I'm currently using mavericks. My MacBook got 2 hours of extra battery. The ram management is amazing. The system is faster...

Personally, as a Mac desktop user, that won't be a plus for me, however that's an amazing improvement in battery life and could certainly be worth the upgrade for that reason alone for people who own laptops. That seems to be have been the difference between Apple and MS over the years. While MS added more and more (some would say) often useless features to Windoze I'm a big fan of sorting out the really important things in an OS. Stability, performance, throughput etc. Should always be top of the list.

Unfortunately my first generation white MacBook (still going strong, albeit with a new battery) won't run anything later than Snow Leopard.

Hopefully they have done a better job with it than they did iOS 7. Yep, I'm a hater.

Yes but if no one liked it anymore they wouldn't buy it.

I was looking to upgrade my 4s to a 5s right up until I 'upgraded' to iOS 7. I may be stuck with the software but I am not stuck with giving Apple any more money. I'm not getting a 5s or any other Apple phone if the current design decisions continue.

Some like the new look/feel and some don't. To each their own. No one is really wrong. But those Samsungs are starting to look better all of the time.

As always, people will vote with their wallets; if Apple's phone/tablet sales start to seriously slip after the intro of iOS7, I'm sure they will quickly retool the OS for iOS8. If not, they will take it as a vote of confidence and continue on.

I am sorry you don't like the new iOS. Fortunately Samsung/HTC do make some great products (although I would only buy a google play version of any android phone)... Thanks for being reasonable on here.. most people aren't... Enjoy whatever you get next.

How crazy would it be if Apple, at the last minute, showed off an OS X redesign to somewhat match iOS 7?

I'm not saying this would necessarily be good or bad, and I don't see it happening, but they did do a similar thing with Leopard (showed the OS early and the new design later).

I also think that it could be done tastefully, kind of like this:

WOWWWW I haven't downloaded the new Developer Preview, but WOW! It's starting to look like MS Office 2013's GUI.... And NO THANKS for OS X 10.9 to look like an iOS...

Those pictures are fan art of how they'd like it to look. The real 10.9 doesn't look all that different, just some of the leather and ripped paper taken out in some but not all of the apps.

Those screenshots are not real. Read what you're quoting next time and read again before posting.
