We are not just complaining that we don't want it, it's that we want something else. This gift sucks. Apple's not obliged to give us anything, but if they're giving anything, it should at least be a good item.

If they're giving away sucky items like this, they might as well not give anything at all.

Wow... ungrateful. Do you say this when someone buys you a present you don't like? "You might as well not have bothered unless it was at least something good!" Did you lose anything by opening the 12 days of Christmas app or downloading the gift? Are you angry that apple took up a few MB of space on your device? I don't get it.. noone's making you download this content for free!

Ummm, yes they are. Go look at the iOS TOS. It's there, plain as day. Apple requires you do download this gift app. I didn't believe it myself, but there it was. Steve would never have allowed this:mad:

That's subjective. There are a lot of folks that like Justin Timberlake and will think this a fantastic gift, even if folks here don't.

App only to iOS device?

In previous years the items could be downloaded via iTunes, how many may have to forgo a Movie download 'cause there isn't enough free space on their iOS device
Dumb move to change this Apple.

I remember a couple of years ago, iTunes 12 days of Christmas gave away the Father Ted Christmas episode, and 'Knowing Me Knowing Yule' (Alan Partridge) in the UK.
Those were some quality gifts!

I think it's a bit more internationalised (so American) now, so maybe not so relevant or good, fingers crossed though!
The gifts were region specific, so if you create accounts in different regions you can get more than 12 different gifts.

Day 2 is the BBC documentary episode Kalahari: Africa.

The country switch is no longer open after day 1 where I used my US account in Australia.

Three thumbs down

This is one of the very few times I will bash apple but they deserve it being the wealthiest company worldwide and giving away justin timber lake and lorde heroine? With an e unfortunately? Is there anybody over 20 who will listen justin or lorde? And why the hell such a bloated app with almost no function? 150mb? Apple get real, offer books, movies, and songs choice. Where are you, the kingdom and future of unanimity?

This is garbage. The music sounds like it was recorded by a fan using their cell phone. Apple is notorious for having deals that are a ripoff. Like offering .99 cent movies that just happened to be on netflix/amazon for free. Maybe Apple could gift me a free viewing of their commercials for the next free gift tomorrow

Blah! This app is crap it does not work and even if it did all it is going tobe are bunch of free Pop music, amazed at the crap some people listen to still.

Eww. What a crappy gift. Wasting worthless MB for nothing.

I could use that MB space for a RAW photo or an important lo-res Realplayer or WMV movie.

Whats next. Justin Bieber, Rihanna or lady Gaga? God I hope not!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

The app itself says "if you are in a region with multiple time zones, availability is based on the easternmost time zone in your country".

Might only apply to non-American countries though.

Nope, I use the US App Store and am in Europe, the download was available at midnight EST.

It would be one thing if Apple were offering one of JT's studio recordings, but this is a recording of a (in my opinion) crummy live performance. After previewing the gifted tracks, I can say I have no plans to ever attend a JT concert.

I don't think you understand how Netflix or Amazon operates their company.
If you could please direct me to this 'free' section of Netflix or Amazon that would be greatly appreciated.
