This is one of the very few times I will bash apple but they deserve it being the wealthiest company worldwide and giving away justin timber lake and lorde heroine? With an e unfortunately? Is there anybody over 20 who will listen justin or lorde? And why the hell such a bloated app with almost no function? 150mb? Apple get real, offer books, movies, and songs choice. Where are you, the kingdom and future of unanimity?

Why don't you wait a few days at least to see if there is anything useful to you? The gifts are not just for people over 20, there are a lot of people under 20 who have an iOS device.

There have been books and movies in previous years. The app is around 65mb not 150mb.

Same every year, people moaning the first gift is not what they wanted.

I'm 42, I love Lorde and can respect Justin Timberlake (whose audience skews high-20s, not teens) as a great artist.

I didn't download this gift, because I already have a version of SexyBack and today's free version didn't sound great in the sample.

I have to admit that I was underwhelmed by this gift as well, but I'm probably not the target demographic for this kind of music.

There's 11 days of gifts left, so I'm optimistic that there's something for most everyone.

how weird is it that u click on the 2nd gift and u see a price tag. was confused for a bit, not that i actually want it ;)

Wow... ungrateful. Do you say this when someone buys you a present you don't like? "You might as well not have bothered unless it was at least something good!" Did you lose anything by opening the 12 days of Christmas app or downloading the gift? Are you angry that apple took up a few MB of space on your device? I don't get it.. noone's making you download this content for free!

I'm angry because if you give gifts, they should be given much thought. Apple looks like they're just giving away gifts because they feel like they have to.

If Apple were thoughtful, they'd give away a $5 iTunes code. Or one of the best selling albums. But no, they gave away an album that was probably not even selling well.

It's very likely that some of the complainers are probably the same people who prefer watching senior citizens like Madonna and the Rolling Stones over someone like Beyonce at halftime of the Super Bowl.

Not me. I'd rather watch even an ad than either of those. Well, I don't know about the Rolling Stones since I hardly know any of their songs. Anyway, those options are probably all better than the stuff from fake drug-os/morons like JayZ.

Now, I just looked up Justin Timberlake because I've never heard his music. Sounds like a lower-pitched Justin Bieber. Bleh, pass. What I really want is an app, not music.

After reading all the whining about the gifts that have been offered, I think the book "Why Manners Matter" would be appropriate for the entitlement crowd making all the noise.

I think there's a difference between gifts given by people one knows, and gifts (aka marketing tools) from a for-profit corporate entity owned by shareholders.

There is. But there's no need to get upset about Apple's gifts even if they're crummy. Google Plus is also a gift (hey it's free!!!111), and that's something to get upset about.

This is garbage. The music sounds like it was recorded by a fan using their cell phone. Apple is notorious for having deals that are a ripoff. Like offering .99 cent movies that just happened to be on netflix/amazon for free. Maybe Apple could gift me a free viewing of their commercials for the next free gift tomorrow

Dunno about Amazon, but Netflix isn't free.

True. I would say that being angry or sad is probably going overboard. I was underwhelmed, but I also found it a bit funny too, because knew there would be some controversy.

On a random note, I think it would be cool in the future if gifts were personalized… maybe based on App Store and iTunes purchases.

BBC Africa here in Australia - day 2. Am pretty appalled the 'gift' is $4.00 off the season pass, bringing the total payable to $19.95 HD and $15.95 SD - I thought these gifts were free? Not being cheap - but what a crap way to market the 12 days app. Booooo.

Today (Dec. 27) it's Tiny Thief here in Austria (Mexico, Netherlands, Phillippines…). Very good game—but not a surprise exactly because it's already free since Dec. 21st (was US$2.99 before). Everyone in this little world can get it here right now:

Highly recommended! Suited for all ages. By the same publishers as Angry Birds but an entirely different gameplay. Some details (about the completely optional "In App Purchases" for real money) here in the touchArcade sales forum thread (with video). Tiny Thief made it into the touchArcade editor's list Best iPhone and iPad Games of 2013.

The ridiculously cute Tiny Thief takes the goofy logic that adventure games thrive on and applies it to craft some often hilarious puzzles to solve. Meeting the goal of each level typically involves setting off some kind of chain reaction to get rid of obstacles to allow you to reach whatever it is you're thieving.

For instance, in one of the pirate-themed stages. You've got to switch a pitcher of water with a sleepy potion, get the waiter to think the pirate is asking for water via a pulley attached to a parrot that squawks to alert the waiter. And in that same level, for some reason there's a guy on a platform with a playable Three Card Monte. Because why wouldn't there be? I could go on, but it'd spoil the surprises, and the main pleasure of this game is the surprise.

It seems that the game shows up in Apple's "12 Days of Gifts" app in all countries which have no iTunes support for TV series/episodes. So—if you have the app installed or not, if you have iOS 7 or not and wherever you are: Get Tiny Thief as soon as possible!

Apple it would be smarter to allow us to decide what we would like to get free not Once Upon a Time Pilot for free which was free originally. Anything free from Apple is usually commercial garbage.
