I hate people. When I saw this thread title I just knew there'd be loads of people moaning that they don't like the free stuff Apple is offering that they are in no way obligated to download.

Thank you for sharing that moan with us. By the way, oblige sounds more natural than obligate in this part of the world. Copy and paste generation at work, I see.

Country confusion

I joined in with the 12 Days of Christmas today, and entered my ITunes Store as the UK, because that's where I live and because that's where I do almost all of my iTunes purchasing, today's offer is for the Africa videos, a great gift, except that when I clicked on it. It took £12.00 from my iTunes account. It seems to think I am in the US. I've checked my account details on the apple site, and that knows I'm in the UK. I love david Attenborough, but I had seen the Africa series and wouldn't have bought the video, how can I get my money back? And how can I persuade this site that I live in the UK

BBC Africa here in Australia - day 2. Am pretty appalled the 'gift' is $4.00 off the season pass, bringing the total payable to $19.95 HD and $15.95 SD - I thought these gifts were free? Not being cheap - but what a crap way to market the 12 days app. Booooo.

not sure but its free here, episode 1 that is. the whole series is like £13

you have to click on the episode, not the whole package. It is episode 1 which is free....titled 'Kalahari'

Not seen anything worth downloading so far this year, but it's free and only day 2. Just had a look at the reviews of the app on App Store, almost all are 1 star reviews complaining that it's ios 7 only. I'm surprised enough people could be bothered to write the reviews at all.

Copied and pasted what from where? What are you on about?

And am I supposed to know, or care which part of the world you are in?

It's a free book for day 3 in the UK. Nothing says Christmas more than a book...well, perhaps a pair of socks but I don't think they're available in the App Store.

Die other books of this autor cost from €5.99 up to €15.99 in Apple's store. For iOS and OS X. Seems to be a nice gift. Thanks.

Maybe this link works in your country if you're interested (please confirm):
https://itunes.apple.com/book/kalteschlaf/id451454820?mt=11

Wikipedia: Arnaldur Indriðason. He was awarded with the Glasnyckel for Grafarþögn and with Blóðdropinn for Harðskafi (= the original name of Kälteschlaf which means Hypothermia in English). (Sounds a bit like the blonde one in the Golden Girls.)

I'm in the US. This morning I got the notification that today's gift was ready, saw it was the Once Upon A Time pilot and decided to ignore it. Looked again this evening and it had changed to the Tiny Thief download. Strange.

Saw this as well not too sure why though.

12 Days of Gifts

In the U.S.A., 2cd gift is Tiny Thief, but you can go into iTunes app and also download the pilot episode of Once Upon A Time for free. 3 gifts in two days. Nice!

Wow! Excellent! JT! Tomorrow Facebook Messenger. Then it's gonna be what? Scatman Joe? Macarena? DJ Bobo?

Or maybe Macericks! hmmmm...

So cool. So edgy.

I don't care for JT myself, but I would in no way equate him to those you listed.

It would be really good for those of us without iOS 7 if you could post the exact name of what you got and the country you are in, even better a link to the item in iTunes.

Reading that Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2014 book now. I subscribe to them on Flipboard, so am finding this enjoyable. Lots of nice facts, info on the country/state, pictures, and stuff I need to do some further reading on.

I know it's a cheap shot moaning about the 12 days content, but here's hoping it improves!
The Ice Princess has been a starbucks download. Good for those who missed that but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a good app tomorrow...
