Apple's brand new standard Studio Display does not come with a polishing cloth included in the box, unlike the Pro Display XDR which offers a cloth in both the standard and nano-textured models.

On its website, Apple says that only the nano texture Studio Display will come with a polishing cloth in the box, alongside the display itself and a one-meter Thunderbolt cable.

Apple's highest-end Pro Display XDR, regardless of configuration, does offer users a cloth in the box. Customers who purchase the standard Studio Display which starts at $1,599, will need to purchase Apple's $19 polishing cloth or look elsewhere for their display cleaning needs.

because you can't polish a turd

*I'm unhappy with the lack of ports, especially no ethernet, why didn't they put that in the power brick ? Not so affordable for these specs, so I'll just wait n see, thanks. Otherwise I might have felt tempted with the new Studio desktop but this monitor put me off the whole shebang.

It's a crap cloth anyways. Worst 20 dollars I would have spent had I kept it. Thank god for return policies.

After the Apple cloth smudged my screens and left lint all over them I searched for something else and I found the perfect cloth. These are the best cloths I have ever used. My iPhone 13 Pro looked like it was brand new out of the box after I cleaned it with this cloth. It even cleaned all the smudges in between the cameras, and that is a hard spot to clean with any cloth. Plus, these are what Apple has used in their stores for years. I can see why.

The fact that I even think a $20 piece of rag should be included with a $1600 monitor that needs a $400 option to gain height adjustment and the entire thing needs to be replaced with a new one if you ever decide to remount it in a different setting, just goes to show that Apple are becoming a parody of themselves. Don't know whether to laugh or cry at this point.

So the margin on those cloths must be huge? Seems an odd decision considering that most of the larger iPods came with a cloth, at least in my experience.

I doubt that people won't buy because of this, but it is an odd omission. It's just a 'cloth wipe', Apple. Odd...

Seriously. These are ULTRA prices yet they keep removing small accessoires. Chargers. Ultra-Short Cables and now not even a polishing cloth. Mind you, they did in the past and I would argue that it is a necessity for experience and maintenance.

The Apple polishing cloth joke is now just annoying. I have the cloth. It is good for the last step in the display cleaning process.

Apple displays are not touch sensitive. The monitor will not need regular cleaning.
