The Apple polishing cloth joke is now just annoying. I have the cloth. It is good for the last step in the display cleaning process.

Apple displays are not touch sensitive. The monitor will not need regular cleaning.

Bt I am amazed at how many fingerprints end up on it. *sigh* And I'm apparently not even conscious of doing it! OR, someone is touching my screens when I'm not in the office. Even my MBP screen seems to get fingerprints on it too often. *sigh*

Not to ruin your day or anything, but remember the stories of people at night using other people's computers for.....enough said, your comment reminded me of this. You will never look at your display the same again, you're welcome

Apple's brand new standard Studio Display does not come with a polishing cloth included in the box, unlike the Pro Display XDR which offers a cloth in both the standard and nano-textured models.

On its website, Apple says that only the nano texture Studio Display will come with a polishing cloth in the box, alongside the display itself and a one-meter Thunderbolt cable.

Apple's highest-end Pro Display XDR, regardless of configuration, does offer users a cloth in the box. Customers who purchase the standard Studio Display which starts at $1,599, will need to purchase Apple's $19 polishing cloth or look elsewhere for their display cleaning needs.

Or maybe look elsewhere for their display needs. And if there aren’t any good non Apple displays look elsewhere for their computing needs.

This type of penny-ante cost cutting isn’t worth the bad press it generates, and at some point I would have thought Apple would figure that out.

Oh noes…. This doesn’t come with a polishing cloth? Geez, what will I ever do. I guess I’ll have to go to Amazon and buy something almost completely similar in a variety pack.

If Apple thought they could get away with not including a power cable in the box, I'm sure they would do it. I wouldn't be surprised if they had considered it at some point for "Eco reasons"

The irony is that this device screams business but it’s not allowed for IT departments to offer displays without a height adjustable stand here for healthy reasons (norms) and I would argue most buy standard configurations
That’s why they offer the VESA mount version for no additional charge.

Its the stupid pettiness of charging $19 extra for a less than a $1.00 piece of cloth. Make the cost of the monitor $1600.00 instead of $1599.00 if that dollar is that important. No it’s not the end of the world and Apple users should be used to this nickel and dollars type of business from Apple because they’ve been doing it since Steve Jobs. I just don’t understand WHY they keep doing stuff like this. Don’t even offer one and don’t mention it at all and no one would probably think anything about Apple not including a polishing cloth. Charge $20 for it and you just painted a ‘Yes we’re that greedy’ target on your back. It isn’t worth the bad publicity.

No one outside the Macrumors crowd cares about the Apple cleaning cloth. They will just buy a cheap cleaning cloth off of Amazon.

Muster up some agency and simply purchase a display that comes with a polishing cloth.
