Including it lowers their margin. Apple certainly can't have that. Remember, the phone doesn't come with a charger either.
That probably is more about the fact that so many people already have chargers, so don't need another new one.

Or maybe look elsewhere for their display needs. And if there aren’t any good non Apple displays look elsewhere for their computing needs.
This type of penny-ante cost cutting isn’t worth the bad press it generates, and at some point I would have thought Apple would figure that out.
Amazon link? It's a crap cloth anyways. Worst 20 dollars I would have spent had I kept it. Thank god for return policies.
After the Apple cloth smudged my screens and left lint all over them I searched for something else and I found the perfect cloth. These are the best cloths I have ever used. My iPhone 13 Pro looked like it was brand new out of the box after I cleaned it with this cloth. It even cleaned all the smudges in between the cameras, and that is a hard spot to clean with any cloth. Plus, these are what Apple has used in their stores for years. I can see why.

Apple's brand new standard Studio Display does not come with a polishing cloth included in the box, unlike the Pro Display XDR which offers a cloth in both the standard and nano-textured models.

On its website, Apple says that only the nano texture Studio Display will come with a polishing cloth in the box, alongside the display itself and a one-meter Thunderbolt cable.

Apple's highest-end Pro Display XDR, regardless of configuration, does offer users a cloth in the box. Customers who purchase the standard Studio Display which starts at $1,599, will need to purchase Apple's $19 polishing cloth or look elsewhere for their display cleaning needs.

Can the Apple display show the complete sRGB color space this time or is it another questionable display?
"The Pro Display XDR didn't fare quite as well in sRGB gamut testing, where monitors normally get close to 100 percent coverage"

PCMag Tests Apple's Pro Display XDR Color Accuracy and Brightness, Says It 'Does Exactly What It Sets Out To'
Apple's Pro Display XDR, priced at $4,999 without a stand, is designed for professionals who need a reference monitor. It may seem expensive,...www.macrumors.com
This is right though it can be used on any Apple display. They really should include one with the Studio display regardless of it being nano texture or not.I got one with mine, but it had the nano texture. I thought the whole point of the cloth that it was designed specifically to be used on the nano texture?
I've had polishing cloths in different colours even, that I buy in one of my grocery stores, for like $ 2-3 each, for ages.
Washable and I've used them many years without any wear off, to polish plenty of things including all my apple toys.
No way Timmy gets any money at all for a polishing cloth. That should've been included with every device for free.
Not American here, but thanks for the advice 😁Check Home Despot's 'cutout bin'. I've found some great microfiber cloths there, usually a 5 pack, or more, at a really great price. YMMV Subject to local participation, void where prohibited...
I’m not normally a Timmy basher, it’s a tough act following someone like Steve Jobs and I think he has done fairly well, considering that many people automatically don’t like him just because he isn’t Steve Jobs. But he is essentially an accountant. And his training probably pushes him to charge money for anything and everything and if the pushback isn’t too bad he thinks that it’s another small profit that, when combined with all the other penny pinching policies brings him a bigger bonus.I've had polishing cloths in different colours even, that I buy in one of my grocery stores, for like $ 2-3 each, for ages.

His job as CEO of a publicly traded company is to increase revenue as much as possible.I’m not normally a Timmy basher, it’s a tough act following someone like Steve Jobs and I think he has done fairly well, considering that many people automatically don’t like him just because he isn’t Steve Jobs. I never liked Tim much at all, but I respect him for most of his job. Not easy trying to take over after someone that is non-replaceable as Steve, in such a tough situation. His job as CEO of a publicly traded company is to increase revenue as much as possible.
I should have included something like your final point in my post. He can’t ignore or make consumers too angry, but his first priority should be stockholders.I never liked Tim much at all, but I respect him for most of his job. But he goes over the line sometimes….which doesn't make him customer friendly, unfortunately.
He only cares for the stock holders.
they need to keep something for the next pro model. With that A13 chip, I really wish they included Wifi, then you could use those speakers and the display for Airplay.
