Or maybe look elsewhere for their display needs. And if there aren’t any good non Apple displays look elsewhere for their computing needs.

This type of penny-ante cost cutting isn’t worth the bad press it generates, and at some point I would have thought Apple would figure that out.

Be sure to point us in the direction of that bad press when it appears. (I'm not sure a few people complaining about the lack of cleaning cloth with $1,699 display qualifies as 'bad press'_.)

It's a crap cloth anyways. Worst 20 dollars I would have spent had I kept it. Thank god for return policies.

After the Apple cloth smudged my screens and left lint all over them I searched for something else and I found the perfect cloth. These are the best cloths I have ever used. My iPhone 13 Pro looked like it was brand new out of the box after I cleaned it with this cloth. It even cleaned all the smudges in between the cameras, and that is a hard spot to clean with any cloth. Plus, these are what Apple has used in their stores for years. I can see why.

Amazon link?

While it took me a second to realize this wasn't a photo of Marlboros, I have to agree, and the woosh cleaning spray we use at the local University is also the best thing we've ever purchased.

That probably is more about the fact that so many people already have chargers, so don't need another new one.

I've got a box of assorted chargers for iPhones, iPods, iPads, and MacBooks. Not having a charger in the box is a nonissue. The only time it has been an issue was when I forgot a charger and was getting a new iPhone in another city. It came nearly fully charged, but I did have to *sigh* buy another smaller charger just to get me through the trip. Totally MY fault. I travel with a USB multiport charger block, and several chargers now, and assorted cables. (Funny that I tried to standardize on USB-C chargers and cables, and still occasionally end up with the wrong cable. DOH! #TooManyCables)

Apple's brand new standard Studio Display does not come with a polishing cloth included in the box, unlike the Pro Display XDR which offers a cloth in both the standard and nano-textured models.

On its website, Apple says that only the nano texture Studio Display will come with a polishing cloth in the box, alongside the display itself and a one-meter Thunderbolt cable.

Apple's highest-end Pro Display XDR, regardless of configuration, does offer users a cloth in the box. Customers who purchase the standard Studio Display which starts at $1,599, will need to purchase Apple's $19 polishing cloth or look elsewhere for their display cleaning needs.

Well, it's "brand new", why do you need polishing cloth for a new device?

Can the Apple display show the complete sRGB color space this time or is it another questionable display?

"The Pro Display XDR didn't fare quite as well in sRGB gamut testing, where monitors normally get close to 100 percent coverage"

Too many colors? (I laughed my butt off at the line 'too many notes' while watching 'Amadeus'. Skimping on colors isn't so funny)

I've had polishing cloths in different colours even, that I buy in one of my grocery stores, for like $ 2-3 each, for ages.
Washable and I've used them many years without any wear off, to polish plenty of things including all my apple toys.

No way Timmy gets any money at all for a polishing cloth. That should've been included with every device for free.

I got one with mine, but it had the nano texture. I thought the whole point of the cloth that it was designed specifically to be used on the nano texture?

This is right though it can be used on any Apple display. They really should include one with the Studio display regardless of it being nano texture or not.

Check Home Despot's 'cutout bin'. I've found some great microfiber cloths there, usually a 5 pack, or more, at a really great price. YMMV Subject to local participation, void where prohibited...

Not American here, but thanks for the advice 😁

But yes, the cloths I buy sometimes comes at least in 3 pack at times too, when I think about it. Really cheap, long lasting and good though.

I’m not normally a Timmy basher, it’s a tough act following someone like Steve Jobs and I think he has done fairly well, considering that many people automatically don’t like him just because he isn’t Steve Jobs. But he is essentially an accountant. And his training probably pushes him to charge money for anything and everything and if the pushback isn’t too bad he thinks that it’s another small profit that, when combined with all the other penny pinching policies brings him a bigger bonus.

His job as CEO of a publicly traded company is to increase revenue as much as possible.

I never liked Tim much at all, but I respect him for most of his job. Not easy trying to take over after someone that is non-replaceable as Steve, in such a tough situation.
But he goes over the line sometimes….which doesn't make him customer friendly, unfortunately.
He only cares for the stock holders.

I should have included something like your final point in my post. He can’t ignore or make consumers too angry, but his first priority should be stockholders.

Apple wanted me to take part of a survey after I bought AC+ for my ASD.
I was not enough pis##ed after getting the same survey after buying AC+ to my MacStudio.
Timely, I could now serve them with my disappointments of todays Apple.
I don’t think I ever have given them a somewhat bad response on their surveys earlier.

I do like my Apple stuff, nothing wrong with them. Hardly ever at least. It’s still superior quality.
But Apple are entitled to hear what customer thinks today, hopefully it goes in somewhere.
Those who asks those questions to customers after we bought Apple stuff and AC+ are hopefully more interested in what their customers think than their CEO and stockholders chatting on MacRumors.
