I know, it would be understandable but not on a 6-inch or more screen considering the lineup and the audience for larger phones... it just seems messy.

The really big phone are meant for Asia and East Eruope where most folk only have one computing device and the phone is the one they use for all their day to day activities including watching pirated movie online. The 6+ inches phone are really not meant for US population where most of us has either a computer or tablet of some kind to watch video. That is what I meant you have to think like the shareholders where your customers is globe in nature and not just for you as an individual.. Just check out the size of the most popular phones in China and you understand the reason for those really big phone.

If everyone wants extremely big screens why not discontinue the iPhone and just make iPads.

PS: Chalk me up for wanting a smaller form factor.

Why can't a company offer device in multiple size for different group of customers? The one size fit all solution has gone by many years ago... Did you ever look at the different size of phones that Andriod maker offer today?

Sorry, you misunderstood me. I completely understand why they have a 6+ inch phone in the lineup, my point was that I do not understand the 6” LCD model when you have a flagship OLED model in the lineup. My reference to the larger phone audience is that they usually want the best device and certainly an OLED screen, so having a 6” LCD model makes little sense. It is not a move I would expect but as you say they could be catering to Asia and East Europe in the sense of having a low cost, large phone. I am still doubtful that it will happen.

That's a good question. I don't know why companies can't offer multiple sizes. Currently, we only have gigantic flagship phones. Apple went from 4 inch to big and bigger. 4 inch is seen as a budget phone, I don't know why. Same problem on android.

If I were an Apple shareholder, I would love to see seperate model for OLED and LCD Iphone. Iphone family range 400-1000. And they need to fill the range with different products (hopefully customer get more device if they pay more). I don't agree that large phone user all want OLED display. If get on Taobao, there are plenty of large screen Android phone that sell for less than 200 USD. I think your logic would imply that everyone only want the best device on the market. If that is the case, there would be no market for Iphone 6s, 7 or 8 now that X will be available soon. I have an Iphone 8+ on order and I am not going for Iphone X.. So I am one example of user who would stay with LCD panel at lower price (at least this year) ...

No, that's not quite what i'm saying. I said the larger phone market in general expects better specs compared to the smaller phone market.
And also, you seem to be talking about models and pricing in general, but I am heavily considering their 2018 lineup and pricing structure. It doesn't make sense, in the lineup to have an LCD model above 6+ inches when the main lineup will be OLED at more reasonable prices. They will not be having separate LCD and OLED lines, or if they do, it will be for 2018 only. So the lineup will be: 5.8", 6.4", 6.4" LCD. Anyway, there is so much to say about this and I am finding it hard to articulate through typing this message, and don't have the time to do so right now, so let's put this conversation on hold until there is more finalised information on the 2018 lineup.
