we've had white keyboards on Apple laptops and computers before. Perhaps before your time in the Apple-verse?
No issues with "Yellowing"
I had 3 white iBooks and a white MacBook, and all had yellowing problems. The yellowing/browning of those laptops was well documented at the time. (Remember the cottage industry of “magic erasers?)

It’s just mind boggling to me that apple would go back to such an obviously poor design choice. Also don’t understand why they’d again drop the “air” name, as it’s a very strong brand. Or the wedge design, which is both iconic and excellent.

All in all, these mock ups look like they fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down. Even worse than the M1 iMacs, and that’s really saying something.

As a 2021 16.2" owner I refuse to buy this Air unless its the weight and size of the 12" Macbook. I loved that MacBook. OK fine it can be 2.5 lbs but has to be the size of the 12". Air size is too big for true portable. I don't need it right now but I want it. I just don't want an Air.

This is not the new MacBook Air. If the renders and rumors are correct, no way this starts at $999 US. Also - the current MacBook Air weighs 2.78 lbs. This looks like a slimmed-down 14" MacBook Pro which starts at 3.5 lbs, so I'm guessing 3 lbs for this.

Heavier, than current Air, more colors, mini-LED screen, no wedge shape, new M2 processor. Say hello to "MacBook" and goodbye to the 13" M1 MacBook Pro. Price starts at $1299 US. Enjoy.

I'd like a Mini M1 Max and a darker blue MacBook for when I'm on the road. The current blue is too light.

Calling it now. In a couple years they'll shove face id into that notch and pretend like it's some new innovative thing we didn't know we wanted until just then. So many good uses for a decent 3d camera in a laptop but apple is stubborn to a fault.

If this is what Apple releases as the updated MBA, or rather MB, it will be one of the hottest items they have, especially for people wanting something fresh (as in the colors) to be different than the typical boring metallic gray colors. I’d consider getting one if they make the orange version more vibrant.

Colorful laptops are so '90s ?

I want to see how they differentiate the base chip and the pro chip.

Maybe the pro chips are the ones with the extra encode/decode engine while the base chips do not. Maybe also access to 32GB RAM could be tied to the pro chips as well.

Here's my expert take on the rumors that I know all of you have been waiting to see.

Design - I prefer the wedge. Colors add another dimension of confusion to the purchase process. Lighter is welcome, thinner is a don't care.
Display - I hope it doesn't cause headaches.
Naming - Don't care.
Keyboard - Light colored keys gonna get dirty.
Camera - The 1080p is welcome.
Ports - I'm cool with what the current MBA has.
M2 - Don't need more power than the M1.
Renders - I think it will look worse than the renders, considering how the 14/16 MBPs turned out.
Release date - Should have been this year.

Why would there be a white notch MBA when Apple has never used white for any product with a notch?

That being said, I do think Apple will probably bring the colors and white boarders of the iMac to their 13" offerings and revert back to just the 'MacBook' naming. But I just don't believe they will have the notch.

If all those design rumors and the notch are true, then I’m rather gonna upgrade my 2019 Intel Air with the M1 Air. But instead of space grey I’ll go back to silver again. I think the current design is better and I certainly don’t want a laptop with white bezels. Sorry Apple.
