#1. The plus was the top selling model last year by 2:1 so you’re own experience - and your argument - are invalid.

#2. Apple didn’t lie. The x screen is larger. Seems math is hard for you.

Well, I have to believe you are in the minority. I have never met a single person (and I deal with the public a lot) that has not echoed what the sentiment that they hate the big bulky size of the Plus. When your alternate choice is "too small", you'll put up with the bulk. But that doesn’t mean it’s a great form factor... its just the lesser of two evils.

Are you actually saying you would PREFER the current iPhone 8 plus size over a bezel-less version? If you are, then no need to continue the conversation as there is no logic to your argument. As far as filling the nitch between iPhone and iPad... sure... some of you freaks wanna carry around a hughmungo phone in your pocket... go for it. Make a third size for those people. Hell, why not just add a phone function to the iPad mini?

But for the rest of us, the iPhone X screen in its current state is too small. They disingenuously tout its "bigger than the plus screen size"... but that’s a lie. Its virtually the same as the iPhone 6,7,8... just a half in longer. The "perfect phone size" is what I described... a bezel-less iPhone 8 Plus.

Think you missed the point. I owned the iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 7 plus, and to get the latest and greatest... bought the iPhone X. I don't want less screen real-estate... I want less bulk. You don't LOVE the bulk... you LOVE the screen size. Who wouldn’t want the same big screen in a smaller form factor? Nobody, thats who. Unless you LOVE walking around with a ridiculous brick in your front pocket all the time.
[doublepost=1519754769][/doublepost]

I'm gonna bet I speak for more people than you do. There's a reason cars don't have huge overhangs in the front and rear anymore. Because they're ridiculous and serve no purpose. Who in their right mind wants to carry around a phone with large bezels? Are you into flight/driving simulators and need something to hold on to while you play games?!
[doublepost=1519754877][/doublepost]

You missed the size of the SCREEN or the size of the PHONE? As mentioned... I too, miss the size of the screen. The X is too small. I'm calling for a bezel-less phone the size of the iPhone 8 plus.

What is the problem here? Is this mic on?
[doublepost=1519755167][/doublepost]

Not pretty much. Apple lied. They implied in the presentations that the screen is larger than the iPhone Plus. Its not. Not by a long shot. Its just slightly LONGER (one direction) than the regular iPhone 8. And they're cheating with the numbers. They're measuring it like a TV... corner to corner diagonally. Problem with that is they aren't taking into account he dead space where the front facing cameras and face detectors are. They're also not taking into account the dead space on the other end where the software has to allow for the swiping. So when you take both of those areas out... its about the same damn size as a regular iPhone 8. Its ********. So this is why I am cheerleading to deaf ears that simply take the iPhone 8 PLUS screen...and make it bezel-less. I want to turn my iPhone X sideways and get all the same perks you get with an iPhone 8 Plus. You get none of that because its TOO SMALL!
[doublepost=1519755258][/doublepost][doublepost=1519684253][/doublepost]
You are incorrect.
It just so happens I want an iPhone the size of an iPad mini 4.

I'm hoping they don't move over to USB C until they sort out their accessories. It actually isn't as good as you'd think it is, and definitely not as good as lightning.
I am not sure what you mean by 'sort out their accessories'? And I don't really care about Lightning being marginally better than USB-C. I just want a single connector for all my things, and USB-C is more than good enough for all things needed anyway.

Tim Cooks favorite line, “But We Have One More Thing!” I guarantee you that is what he will say for the X Plus....

There's only one thing people are going to buy for their phones that will really hit them, headphones. Have you tried to buy USB C headphones? I have. Not every pair of headphones work with every phone. You read that right. Not every pair of USB C headphones work with every USB C port. That isn't getting into the problem where there are no good USB C headphones to begin with.

I think we will do fine with Bluetooth headphones. The industry is pushing aggressively in that direction anyway.

The iPhone X screen is 2.6% smaller than the Plus size screen.
Someone already did the math.

You suck at this arguing thing. Which phone has more real estate? Look into it and get back to me. If it’s the iPhone X, I’ll buy you one. And again... when the only other option is TOO SMALL, of course you're gonna buy the bigger one. What part of that don't you understand?
[doublepost=1522115089][/doublepost]
Which of the physical sizes of screens, bezels and phones that I listed is a lie?
  • Physical width of screen (in portrait orientation):
    iPhone 6/7/8: 58.4 mm
    iPhone 6/7/8 Plus: 68.4 mm
    iPhone X: 62.4 mm
    Meaning the iPhone X adds 40% of the width difference between standard and 'Plus' phones. The screen is not just taller.
  • The iPhone X is considered bezel-less by todays standard, yet you think that Apple could snip its fingers and add another six millimetres (to get from 62.4 to 68.4 mm) by cutting the (side) bezel including steel case curvature from from 4.25 mm to 1.25 mm (while the case curvature already accounts for 2 mm).

Sorry Charlie, but your wrong. Sure, the diagonal measurement is longer... but that is a lie. You can't use the top portion of the screen because of the cameras. The corners are rounded. The bottom has unusable space because of the need for controls (no home button) and its as narrow as the smaller iPhone. You can't even turn it sideways and get all the split screen features because its so small. Its literally the size of the iPhone 8 if you're being honest.

SO AGAIN... FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME.... WE ALL LOVE THE SIZE OF THE iPhone 8 PLUS!!!! Just make a bezel-less version of THAT screen. Not a iPhone 8 screen size, which is essentially what the X is.

And again, and again, you complained about the iPhone X screen not being larger were it matters: width. Then I spell out exactly how wide the screen is and you start complaining about that the height is not fully usable. Talk about changing the subject when you get caught out wearing no clothes.

Caught wearing no clothes... mmmkay. I own both... the screen is MUCH LARGER on the iPhone 8 Plus. This is not debatable. All you have to do is step into an apple store for 2 seconds and see for yourself. Like saying your house is bigger than mine because you have a 12 foot chimney. Gimme a break.

I quoted the precise screen dimensions of all the current iPhones (minus the SE) which made it as clear as it could be that the Plus phone's screens are still wider than the iPhone X screen, but that the iPhone X screen was nevertheless also noticeably wider than the iPhone 6/7/8 screen, something you originally disputed. Somewhere in there you also accused me of lying about the screen widths.

I accused no one of anything. There is more screen real estate on the Plus models that there is on the X. Why do you insist on continuing this "wider" argument that means nothing to the big picture?

Telling me that I am wrong and what I said is a lie, is not accusing me of lying?

1. Great. Another mouth breather who thinks "top selling" somehow equals quality. Hey, did you know Taylor Swift is the best singer in the history of man? You know how I know? She sold the most albums last year. Yea... its true. It's also true Walmart is the best store in the world. And McDonalds serves the best food in the world.

2. Longer does not equal larger. See the video I posted above if you're having trouble comprehending diagonal measurements and actual screen size.

Can't wait for E-SIM to be implemented on the iPhone. Being stuck with removable pieces of plastic in 2018 is mind boggling.
Go get a CDMA phone, it has essentially the same thing.

On the main topic of the thread this would definitely be interesting, but I've grown tired of big phones and would hope that they also come out with a new bezelless phone in an SE case.

I can't believe these morons are going to bring out the iPhone X plus the size of the iPhone 8 plus. Instead of just giving us the SCREEN SIZE of the iPhone 8 plus in a smaller body (bezel-less). Nobody enjoys carrying around a phone that large!!!! It's been the only complaint of the plus size phones for 3 generations... we love the screen size... we hate the big bulky phone. How is this not completely obvious to anyone with half a brain cell?

That’s pretty moronic of you don’t you think? Their goal is to please everyone, the IPhone X already has a screen size the size of the 8 plus. In my case I can’t use the X it’s way too small in my hands and I love the size of the 8 plus but would love the extra screen size and the newer features. I plan on buying the X plus when it comes out, I wanted the X and I’m very happy that I passed on it because I would’ve hated to have that phone in hand everyday. Anyone with half a brain cell would realize what their aim is and that they are going to achieve it while bringing out 3 phones.

It seems odd the highest end phone would be the one with dual sim - it’s usually a money saving feature on lower end androids...
