I do suspect, unless his views changed radically, he would not have been much of a fan of the "dongle for everything" approach. I agree there. But... he could've changed. So hard to say. Seems like something that would not have suited the aesthetic of the Jobs we all got to know, though. Agreed.

I think so. I love the form factor, but I'm almost tempted to go back to the larger phone because it suited my fingers more. Odd as my fingers and hands are small.
Well, I have to believe you are in the minority. I have never met a single person (and I deal with the public a lot) that has not echoed what the sentiment that they hate the big bulky size of the Plus. When your alternate choice is "too small", you'll put up with the bulk. But that doesn’t mean it’s a great form factor... its just the lesser of two evils.
Are you actually saying you would PREFER the current iPhone 8 plus size over a bezel-less version? If you are, then no need to continue the conversation as there is no logic to your argument. As far as filling the nitch between iPhone and iPad... sure... some of you freaks wanna carry around a hughmungo phone in your pocket... go for it. Make a third size for those people. Hell, why not just add a phone function to the iPad mini?
But for the rest of us, the iPhone X screen in its current state is too small. They disingenuously tout its "bigger than the plus screen size"... but that’s a lie. Its virtually the same as the iPhone 6,7,8... just a half in longer. The "perfect phone size" is what I described... a bezel-less iPhone 8 Plus.

There was a cool song that came out when "antennagagate" was a thing.... a simple change of a few words and it fits your future dilemma.... If you don't want an iPhone x plus (don't buy it) if you bought one and you don't like it (bring it back)..... I didn't get the X for this specific reason... I LOVE huge phones and was just waiting for them to make a bigger version. To each their own I say..... I know you're going to say why do the best parts go in the bigger phones.....Who knows?? I buy the big phones so honestly I don't care. If they put the best in the smaller phones I can honestly say I don't think it would bother me but I'll probably never need to find out.... as I buy the bigger phones
Think you missed the point. I owned the iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 7 plus, and to get the latest and greatest... bought the iPhone X. I don't want less screen real-estate... I want less bulk. You don't LOVE the bulk... you LOVE the screen size. Who wouldn’t want the same big screen in a smaller form factor? Nobody, thats who. Unless you LOVE walking around with a ridiculous brick in your front pocket all the time.

I'm gonna bet I speak for more people than you do. There's a reason cars don't have huge overhangs in the front and rear anymore. Because they're ridiculous and serve no purpose. Who in their right mind wants to carry around a phone with large bezels? Are you into flight/driving simulators and need something to hold on to while you play games?!

Not pretty much. Apple lied. They implied in the presentations that the screen is larger than the iPhone Plus. Its not. Not by a long shot. Its just slightly LONGER (one direction) than the regular iPhone 8. And they're cheating with the numbers. They're measuring it like a TV... corner to corner diagonally. Problem with that is they aren't taking into account he dead space where the front facing cameras and face detectors are. They're also not taking into account the dead space on the other end where the software has to allow for the swiping. So when you take both of those areas out... its about the same damn size as a regular iPhone 8. Its ********. So this is why I am cheerleading to deaf ears that simply take the iPhone 8 PLUS screen...and make it bezel-less. I want to turn my iPhone X sideways and get all the same perks you get with an iPhone 8 Plus. You get none of that because its TOO SMALL!

Really, I actually want the 6.5 inch Screen, for me it would actually eliminate the need to carry my iPad mini around. I really don't find it bulky at all.
There are always going to be 2 sides to the argument. Not everyone is going to agree on the same thing. Some people will not always get want they want. Some will have to compromise and vice-versa.
Which of the physical sizes of screens, bezels and phones that I listed is a lie?
- Physical width of screen (in portrait orientation):
iPhone 6/7/8: 58.4 mm
iPhone 6/7/8 Plus: 68.4 mm
iPhone X: 62.4 mm
Meaning the iPhone X adds 40% of the width difference between standard and 'Plus' phones. The screen is not just taller.
- The iPhone X is considered bezel-less by todays standard, yet you think that Apple could snip its fingers and add another six millimetres (to get from 62.4 to 68.4 mm) by cutting the (side) bezel including steel case curvature from from 4.25 mm to 1.25 mm (while the case curvature already accounts for 2 mm).
Apple’s sales figures tell them everything they need to know. People love larger phones and more importantly are willing to pay a high premium for them.
The narrative of disappointing iPhone X demand due to a high price has been wildly off the mark thus far. Apple will likely sell more than 50M iPhone X devices at $999 by the time September rolls around. That is not a sign for Apple to lighten up on pricing at the high-end. Instead, it indicates Apple has room to go even higher in iPhone pricing as long as there is additional tech or value attached to the higher price.
There is absolutely no reason for Apple to shy away from a 6.5-inch OLED "iPhone X Plus" or price it for less than $1,199.
It makes perfect sense to me.
Or $1149 but I agree. I suspect they'll sell quite a few of them. One to me that's for sure.

Face ID is not new. Innovation is to produce iPods without iPods. iphone is to produce when iphone is absent.
FaceID with this efficiency in this form factor is new; most of the innovation in the last 30 years is integrating things that were in a big form factor in a much smaller one.
My guess is that it will cost as much as the current X. I'm basing this hunch that the X did not do as well as expected, perhaps a factor is price. But we shall see... if Apple continues with a similar price scheme, I expect that the X Plus will be about $1149 for 128GB and $1349 for the highest storage.
forbes says that the iphone x plus gonna cost 1400 due to higher price for oled from samsung
Me too. It’s the only improvement likely to get me to upgrade, other than a good bezel free 16:9 LCD or OLED screen without PWM.

I am happy with my iphone 7 plus 128 GB.. No matter how much you upgrade, there will be another iphone.. This will give me 5 more years before i get the next one
Seriously, just move the home button to the top of the 8+ and put the headphone jack above the button on the right and take a half inch off the bottom of the phone.
