Really? When Apple released the mini mac and it was more expensive in the UK all we heard was whining. We (Brits, Americans, and Europeans) will always compare the deals we get.
£1,741.20 incl. VAT, Plus you get 3 years warranty (like Applecare minus the telephone support)

Buying songs, buying apps, buying applications in the Mac App Store, buying movies/tv shows (or renting), or selling it to someone else.
I hope they go with a free iPod Touch though. If this current rumor is true, I'll just wait and purchase a refurbished Mac instead of a new one and save money that way.
I've just checked Amazon website, they offer the base line Macbook Pro for $1,137 whereas Apple educational price is $1,212 (tax included). Why do people bother checking out at Apple with a higher price provided that there's no promotion? Is there any advantage in shopping at Apple over Amazon?
Instore? I presume you mean one of the bricks and mortar stores? If so, No, you'll have to order either over the phone or through your university internet connection.
It's nice that the card could be used in both App stores as well as iTunes, but make it double as an Apple retail store gift-card too!

It's not about the "gift" to everybody on here.
I'm guessing a lot of people (like me) were planning on selling that iPod Touch for around $200.
For some people (like students!), there is a HUGE difference between spending $1,099 and buying one for $899 essentialy.

Does the promotion go on-line at the same around the world ? I will be online at 12am UK time to check if the deal is online yet.. I will update you guys asap when the deal is up That is if the deal is up at midnight UK time.

Often Apple update their web site around 6.00am EST, so possibly the education store may go down around midday in the UK for updates. However, as it's not a product launch / update this "rule of thumb" may not apply. Just thought I'd warn you so you don't get disappointed if nothing happens at midnight.
