I don't think it's fair to bring in a laptop example to a discussion about headphones. There are giant markets that have emerged to support something like framework laptops and yet, they don't release sales numbers which tells me that it's not successful for various reasons.
Apple is a design company first and technology company second. What you're suggesting is akin to telling an artist to change their design so that it's more sustainable or inclusive for the audience. In other words, it will never happen like that with Apple.
What I could see happening is Apple eventually introducing their own eco-friendly line of products that cost more and have less features but include the ability to upgrade in some fashion or at least easily recycled or traded in for other value. The education, marketing and desire to upgrade products has to come from Apple first, not the customers. The customers can make all the demands they want but Apple can pivot enough to ignore those voices because they have so many other customers to target in countries like India who care about value but not so much about sustainability and upgradeability.
