Actually, yes it was much better. It was tasteful. The new banners and iOS design make me think of Target, Kmart and Wonder Bread.

This will probably be the first year that I am not tempted to buy the new iPhone and it will be the first year where I actually hate the UI of the latest iOS. I will not be upgrading the firmware of my current devices to iOS 7.

Enjoy missing out on a ton of new features because you're stubborn. iOS 7 looks fantastic and runs SO much smoother than 6. Battery life has been ten fold better on the 5 as well.

Exactly! I am guessing a lot of the naysayers will, in fact, be updating, though.

I agree that iOS 7 looks pretty good... but... are you really get 10 times the battery life with iOS 7? So, that means over 2,000 hours of standby and 80 hours of talk time? ;)

Last year, nobody predicted the 7th gen redesigned iPod nano. If I remember correctly it was only leaked less than 12 hours before the event (Sep. 12th 2012), unlike the iPhone 5 for which we had seen every possible parts in leaked photos during the previous months.

Here's a wild guess at something that may or may not surprise us tomorrow:

A simple update to the 2012 iPod nano line that brings iOS notifications through the nano using bluetooth (the 2012 model already has the hardware for it).

Another interesting possibility would be routing FaceTime audio calls (now in iOS 7) through the nano, again using bluetooth. People that carry 3G iPad minis with them could easily make and receive FT calls using the nano.

Now you can argue that it would be useless etc. and that nobody buys iPods anymore, but it's just a wild guess on the eve of the event which may or may not make sense :)

I'm shocked that to this day we have not seen the fingerprint sensor/home button. On that note apple did well.

OMG look at all those colorful dots! This can mean only one thing! We're gonna get to watch Tim Cook play the game Twister!

The idea of colorful phones reminds me of the early iMacs. Those were also cool

Nothing is innovation. Name something you think is innovation.

Wrong.

Windows "Start me up!" 95 was pretty innovative...

Anyway, I really hope they have more than phones tomorrow. New Thunderbolt Displays would be nice.

Don't think the venue size really matters.. I'm sure it holds a couple thousand +. Maybe they are trying to keep more under wraps?

I just hope the stream is good. Last one was crap for me. Thanks Verizon LTE

During WWDC Keynote, AT&T signal went from 4G to 2G after 30 min. couldn't watch anything. had to follow CNET/Macrumors feed.

In the past, Apple's fall event has focused on media - music, television, etc. But I'm starting to think this is only going to be an iPhone event - based on the fact we have seen absolutely no leaks whatsoever for any sort of iPod.

Granted, you are right that the nano redesign was a surprise last year.

There's a rumored event in October. Maybe we'll see iPods and iPads announced then.

Yeah it's very possible, since iOS 7 will probably take a good part of the keynote. I guess it's more fun to speculate about things we haven't really heard about. :)

These days it seems increasing screen size by 0.2" is considered innovation to some.

It's the marvels of un-miniaturisation! It takes a lot of innovation to make something small bigger! :D

Despite what has been said, let's enjoy tomorrow. Before the showdown, it's always exciting.

Getting so close! I'm getting the phone regardless of the specs (with the real question being glass or plastic) but what really has me jazzed is the new os. Hurry up 7!

Such mean-spirited responses to a legitimate question. I didn't think people actually watched live videos at work that they can watch later at home that same day so I was wondering if some poeple here did and low and behold not only do they do so but they are also extremely defensive about it as if they think I'm judging them or something. Not a judgmental question at all just curious how people squeezed it into their schedules that's all jeez.

While I am sure you thought your question was legitimate, take an honest look and I think you'll see why people reacted the way they did. You may not have meant to sound incredulous, but in writing the tone certainly appeared that way, not to mention you wrote your original post without considering flexible work schedules and different time zones.

Look on the bright side, you certainly got people discussing your initial observation.

Whatever it is...

Just kidding. Do need a new Macbook Pro, want new lighter iPad, would be nice to have new phone.

What does the choice of venue have to do with whether or not there will be a live stream?

On campus events mean Apple has total control over setting up wifi systems, something they lack off campus. So they can set up a wifi for the media, second for their demos, third for the stream and so on.

He's actually a jerk.

A biometric scanner isn't innovation nor are colored iPhones

Neither is a kickstand or a keyboard that makes a click when you attach it but that didn't stop Ballmer from making such claims or letting the company focus their marketing in such things

----------

I'll be watching it while at work.

Four screens, each with a different live blog. Apple TV if it's streaming.

We racked our injest just so we have nothing to do from 10-12. Lol

Yes, it helps people become cross-eyed more quickly. :D

What if you are already cross eyed.

Or what about that poor kid from the third grade with the lazy eye.
