To all the outraged posters, this will be another data point on how irrelevant you are to Apple's bottom line. How does one create a worldview that anything not embraced by you is by definition loathsome. The horror :(

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
What a complete waste of money, they want to take on Nerflix and Amazon, yet when you compare the original award winning shows they make to this Carpool Karaokee..... yeah Cook and the board need to get their heads out of their behinds if they want to take this seriously.

But hey it's just my opinion more from a business angle I guess, some people will enjoy the shows so that's good, more so if you get a laugh from it as that's always healthy :)

I've been mocking Apple's Mobile Funtime Singalong since it debuted, and then they hit me between the eyes with Metallica. I figured I'd finally crumble and take a look. Click the link and <shazam!> it takes me to a page for Apple Music. Reality set in as I realized I'm not going to pay $10/month to watch one episode of a music show.
There's always Planet of The Apps.....

To me these are just promotions of Apple Music and not an actual TV series. The same can be said about Planet of the Apps.

I work for a major studio creating content for both film and television. In all honesty I don't think Apple believes that their shows are serious original content. Anyone working in the industry knows / should know that. If for some reason they do think that these shows are more than extended promo films then I just give up... If Apple is going to produce original content then their investment needs to be in completely different league.

I was being very negative towards this show, having realised you need an Apple Music subscription to watch it, I'm okay with it :)

Though.....this puts me off getting Apple Music :p

Haven't cringed that hard in a while. Only watched like a minute or two. Oh my, Apple. Honest question, who in their right mind would take time out of their day to watch this crap?

Eh. It's not for me. No problem for those that enjoy this sort of thing enjoying this sort of thing. I'll take my Apple Music subscribing self back off to the classical section.

At least this is a considerable improvement over the indefensibly bad Planet of the Apps.

I don't find Apple Music good enough to subscribe to over Spotify, a TV show isn't enough to sway me

I just came here to read the comments of people freaking out on things they don’t need to watch, on a service they probably don’t even subscribe.

Not disappointed.

Buried deep? For me it shows at the top of the browse page. Perhaps it’s because i’m on the developer beta and they addressed the issue?

I see that now as well. But it’s likely because they’re promoting it.

But still, I wish they could find a different method to distribute this content (I guess Music is really the only service they have at the moment). Also, on an Apple TV, it would be cool for “TV and Video” to be brought up to the main menu and not as a sub menu under Browse.

Probably like you and me, since there's over half a billion combined views of the series on Youtube.

Like it or not, it's popular as F.

Why is this legal and these people are not arrested?
This is a clear case of driving without due care and attention.

No way is the driver totally focused on driving the 2 tons? of metal down the road, which could kill someone.

This should be stopped as it's a danger to the public.

What is driving without due care and attention?
Careless driving or driving without due care and attention or careless driving is defined as;

  1. Driving that falls below the standard expected of a competent driver; or
  2. Driving that does not show reasonable consideration for other persons using the road or pathways.
If you are found guilty of careless driving a court can impose between 3 and 9 penalty points, or disqualify you. It is therefore a serious matter, and one for which you should always seek specialist advice.

The next episode will feature Fonzie jumping over a shark.

Is this before or after he hits the jukebox to make the next Carpool Karaoke song begin? :D

Pretty sure they're being pulled behind a trailer.

Clap happy Apple fanboys with horse blinders on who have low standards.

I see what you're saying there, but if Apple wants to be taken seriously into the foray of original television ( either on Apple TV or Apple Music ) programming, Planet of the Apps and this Carpool thing is not the answer. For them not to take it seriously shows that they're just screwing around in their closed garden. And yet, when people say it's a promotion of Apple Music, one has to wonder why do they need to do that inside of Apple Music or Apple TV? They have no reason to push this hard with these kinds of shows.

I suspect Netflix turned them down when they probably attempted to approach for a buy out or get a partnership deal behind the scenes. It's like when Nintendo approached Sony to build a 32-bit CD-ROM for the Super Nintendo back in the 1990s and Sony got wise and said " No thanks. We're doing our own thing ", bringing out that particular CD-ROM into the Playstation. It was probably a huge turning point and brilliant move on their part.

I think Netflix is a bit too powerful for Apple to manhandle because they already have leverage while Tim Cook and crew don't. That's probably why Apple had no choice but to do their own shows without dealing with, as Jobs famously said it, " a bag of hurt " of licensing and such.

When I did storyboarding for the indie film-makers back in the early 2000s and one game project, I took that seriously because visual storytelling is an art form.

And what's so bizarre about Apple is how they're promoting beautiful photography as art being 'Shot on iPhone' while they produce something ridiculous like Carpool Karaoke. Something's way off about this company.
