Ok as I had to remove pages et al… I mean space is limited and I got a message saying that the free version wasn’t going to be updated anymore. I don’t really want to have 2 copies of Final Cut Pro on my Mac.
Did you mean their bloat versions (read: often unnecessary applications that are forced to come with a new computer)? Those were the first things I removed.

I think if you already have stand-alone Logic Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc. They will be upgraded to the "Creator Studio" versions. I don't think they will be duplicated.

Just subscribed. Got 3 months free. Strange though... I now have TWO Final Cut and TWO Logic Pro programs on my internal drive. That takes up lots of space. I don't know what to do at the moment, since I want to ensure both are exactly the same software and will run all my previous libraries/files. Can I remove safely the previous programs? I'll have to call Apple. I don't want to run them at the moment in case it screws up my libraries.

WOW! That's not good.

what logic pro version is incuded in "creator studio"? the standalone is ver 12

That is what I call Bling-Bling.... Like you've entered a vinyl store.

//that spoiler is not good. It would be better if it just appeared as the word "SPOILER" which opens with a mouse click.

My non AI boosted Pages etc of the free Apple apps got updated today 👍🏻
I I need AI I can use Gemini or ChatGPT for free. That’s enough for me at this point, and when it isn’t I’ll go with the cheapest at OpenAI subs.
I still have almost nightmares about Sirii- so no 😱

I purchased iWorks before it was free and just been using that. But this morning when I used it, it said it would no longer be updated and pointed me to download from the App Store the version from the creative suite.

I am hoping that my purchased version of Final Cut won’t do the same thing. I don’t really want another subscription for the other items like Logic Pro. I don’t use it. I don’t even know what it is!

I haven't read anywhere that they're going to stop updates for their paid apps.

Standalone Logic Pro just get an update... Let's see if it was the last one.

Kinda wish I could change all my icons to the new creator studio style...
Make a bunch of tiny text file documents, put them on a thumb drive, go to the Apple Store, plug it in and replace all the text file icons with the icons you want, go home and do the same thing.

(Evil league of Evil strikes again!)

There is a BIG problem. The FCP files opened with Creator Studio can't be opened anymore with FCP 11.2.
Be careful with Final Cut Pro on Creator Studio. I subscribed with the 3 months free trial. I opened an unimportant FCP library. It converted it into a new format. You will NOT be able to revert to the previous format, were you to decide to go back to the current FCP. It will not be compatible. I tested it. MAKE BACKUPS and be careful.
Also, when you install Creator Studio, it installs a second copy specific to Creator Studio of FCP, Logic, Pages, Numbers, Motion, Stage Manager, etc... So, you end up with two copies of all software, which takes up lots of space on your internal drive. I kept a copy of the original software on an external drive to make sure.

Students and educators are able to subscribe to Creator Studio for $2.99 per month or $29.99 per year.
If they can sell it at that price to some people, they should sell it at that price to everyone.

I completely concur. I am a K12 IT Director and use a Mac and would love to have these tools at the education price. I wish they had used something like ShearID to determine if folks are in education or not and not use college email domains.
In the UK I get shearid when I follow the education pricing signup route.

Roughly, if would take about 4.5 years before the subscription price equaled the cost of buying all the apps separately, but if you can get the $199 education bundle (which now is only offered when buying a new Mac) this is a bad buy. Also providing Apple keeps giving upgrades free- which surprises me that Final Cut 11 and 12 were free, though those new features weren't exactly many.

I opened up pages after it updated. Gave me the splash screen of creative studio. Asked if I wanted to join. Gave me option for pay now or get 3-months free.
What, there's a prompt to now pay? I thought that was only for the pro apps, not for the iwork apps

We all pay enough for Apple premium products; Steve J in his infinite wisdom made the OS free for all as Apple eventually did for iWork.
Now we have a management team who are only interested in lining their pockets with share options & bonuses.
AI is just another way to add to those options.
I certainly will not be paying.

Obviously, I don’t use pirated software and advise anyone against using it, as it can be riddled with malware. But I find it to be extremely funny that Apple’s entire Creator Studio App Bundle has been cracked in less than 48 hours. That was supposed to be App Store exclusive, subscription only, protected by Apple’s cryptography and all the rest...

Yeah, it was cracked quick, seems to be easy for crackers these days

This is insane. I did the 3 months free trial as well but all I've used so far is Pages-- so now I have the old 14.5 Pages plus new 15.1 Pages. Not only does this mean two copies of software but it created a duplicate when I opened it in the Creator Studio version. When you have both Apple tells you to trash the old version of Pages ("it can be deleted" or words to that effect). Not only that, they've changed some of the keyboard shortcuts on the new Pages, reducing familiarity with it. This is a damn mess and Apple needs to sort this out ASAP.

Some probably ask this but, why is this bundle being added in:

/User/username/Music/Logic Pro Library.bundle

"Starting in Logic Pro 12 and MainStage 4, all sound library files included with Logic Pro and MainStage such as software instrument patches, Apple Loops, and samples are stored in a single file called "Logic Pro Library.bundle." The new file streamlines sound library workflows like using your sound library on other computers and relocating your sound library to an external storage device."

No updates for Pixelmator unless I buy the bundle.. pass. Already have Adobe Photography plan and Apple have no apps that can remotely compare to Photoshop or Lightroom.

I'm tempted to move over but I've been in the Adobe world for a long time - so long that I can almost do things with my eyes closed so to speak.

FCP I can deal with, but a photoshop replacement has me wondering...

Also a bit annoyed that a few of the apps won't work with my maxed out 7,1 Mac Pro, yet they could be installed on my sluggish running M2 Macbook Air...

I downloaded the apps, but wasn't ready to do a $200 annual subscription yet.
