And your nuts to believe that a company who's 56% of it's profits comes from one device is a good thing. They can make as much profit as they want, if it lose half those profits investors will dump their stock.

And if people would stupidly do that, that's where Apple's cash pile comes into play. They can buy back their stock and take the company private.

Ugh.

Eddy Cue is responsible for Apple Music and is the worst thing that has happened to the great company in the past four years. Once, he was great, but times change, people change, and he has sadly not kept his side of things up.

His talking about everyone working 24 7 and being on call the whole time is the most depressing thing I've heard for a long time. It's the last thing I want to hear from an Apple exec and speaks of wholly the wrong direction and ethos for Apple to be moving towards. It was this stifling total immersion philosophy that led to the information overload Apple Watch, and is symptomatic of a disease at the heart of Apple. Cook bears some responsibility for that, too, but to hear these words from Cue suggest that he is culpable to a large extent.

Sift the chaff, Apple. You desperately need a reduction in your commitments and a complete overhaul of your core products, both in hardware and especially software and services. There is so, so much that needs improving, that you must let these peripheral products go—both released and unannounced—unless you wish to inflict long-term damage on your brand.

Please keep saying no and keep the media restless and cranky. Ignore your shareholders. Nothing matters but the product.

I totally agree with you... Eddy Cue is kinda stuck in the past and isnt really helping the company move forward... what he thinks is innovating and exciting is actually pretty standard.

I think the company really needs some younger blood injected into it - Tim is kinda old, Eddy is kinda old, Ive is not far off...

They brought out the ipad pro that should have been amazing - but it's left most people fairly disappointed...personally i'd call it ipad plus -- for it to be truly pro it should have a dual boot so that you can use it in tablet mode, or PC mode...it would be awesome to be out and about and use the ipad mobile apps to easily work on stuff, but to then come home and put it into a dock and switch over to pc mode and use as an actual desktop/laptop.

The macbook was also disappointing - steve would have been like "why cant we have two usb-c ports?"... also, there should be a bluetooth version of their headphones - after all the watch has no headphone jack, it would be a why to push people forward and aways from the headphone jack on their phones, and they could have got rid of it on the macbook - at least on the macbook you could still use an adaptor should you really want to use a headphone jack.

There was also a time when macs were fairly future proof - now they seem to have about a 2 year life span because there is no way to upgrade, or everything is covered in glue and stuck in place - there is no reason why we shouldnt be able to upgrade the ram and hard drive...

this year i have not been impressed by apple - it seems they are keeping the same prices, but offering less - at least thats how it feels to me

iPad's what, finish your sentence.

I smell either troll or a gramma nazi.

Except that for many of us, the Watch has decreased our information overload.

I get the information I need, when I need it, delivered in an unobtrusive way, and I can act on it, if I choose, without falling into the distraction oh my phone.

It's made my days more serene. And made me more effective and more relaxed.

"Cue brought out an iPad Pro to show off on stage, and teased the audience, asking them to look under their chairs to find nothing underneath"

lol, I would have done the same thing. Seems we have more things in common than i thought.

iPad Pro could be a enterprise changer... Windows 10 sure isn't.... I

So I hope Apple can pull this off.

"Anyway, still not sure an iPad Pro will fit into the enterprise market as it is just a bigger iPad and not much else."

Like the claim years ago that the iPad is just a bigger iPhone?

"It's like Apple lacks faith in OSX in enterprise but wants to back iOS which isn't half as capable."

Really. How does that square with IBM buying several hundred thousand Macs for their employees? Still there are loads of business opportunities where the iPad makes a lot of sense. Why would Apple choose to not pursue those opportunities if some markets demands that platform?

I would argue that the ipad is just a bigger ipod touch...

i sold my my ipad mini shortly after getting the iphone 6plus - the reason being that the screen on the mini was only a little bigger, and that my phone didnt really on wifi and i didnt have to buy into a separate internet data account just to use an ipad on portable wifi or LTE...

I also used to have the ipad 2 - but again, without internet you are limited... it wasnt great for games because it was awkward to hold, and i didnt enjoy reading on it - so for books i use a kindle, and for mobile games i use my phone, for more or less everything else i use my laptop.

The only use i can see an ipad for is if you need a bigger touch screen - personally i dont, and my phone can do the same and more

It does not. Everything thing about iOS 6 music app sucked.
Please explain me to me how in the hell the iOS 6 music app sucked because honestly, Apple really nailed it with their default music player but it's gone downhill ever since.

The iOS 6 version was the last good default music app. It honestly peaked there and suited my listening needs perfectly. It was THE definitive iPod app. iOS 7 screwed up the UI quite a bit but was still mostly usable but the music app since iOS 8.4 is absolutely atrocious.

Whenever I looked at how terribly designed and laid out the new music app is, I thought "Apple designed this?" "Are you sure this is from the same people who gave us the iPod?" and "What happened to the original tent-pole feature of the iPhone being a 'widescreen iPod with touch controls'?"

I don't mind that Apple offers a streaming service, I honestly don't but the current music app is too cluttered and has so many bad UI decisions. The radio and streaming features could easily be broken into separate apps like Podcasts was.

I just wish Apple could go back to basics and not shove their streaming service down our throats. There are other ways to promote the service without being obnoxious and creating bloatware. I just wanted a simple and streamlined music player for my local music collection as I have no interest in ever subscribing to Apple Music.

Can I start a drawing at 3840x2160 at 600dpi? Can I finish a drawing in CMYK? I am afraid not. With no full acces to adobe cc suit, i still thinks this device is fun to work with, but need an finish an a desktop. If so, this device is not going to work (for me)

I felt the same but have ceased caring. Apple has been co-opted and is no longer about products, but about money, power and social engineering.

I am not a fan of Eddy, his WWDC performance is still a reminder of how much he has lost it. I wouldn't say Apple Music is a complete screw up but it isn't 'great'.

The new Apple TV is missing great detail (Podcasts, Trailers, Remote APP) and even the old Apple TV being unsupported with Apple Music after being sold as a 'complete cloud device' is disgraceful.

My two cents..

That's Adobe's fault, not Apple's.

How about Dropbox support for the current iWork line up? I like iCloud, but I want to leverage my Dropbox plan.

I'm not sure why Apple executives show up at these kind of events because they never say anything.

Given Jobs' hostility to DropBox when they wouldn't sell to Apple, I'd LOVE to know what Cue was doing at this thing.
I'm glad DropBox didn't sell. Apple would not have implemented it the same way. And for a while, people had choice.

While I'm happy with the function of DropBox, I'm looking for a replacement.
Taking Condoleezza Rice on to the Board of DropBox signalled their falling into line with the military industrial complex and the surveillance state.
And while I'm sure all corporations face falling in line or destruction, no matter what they do now, Dropbox is no longer in a position to keep my data safe.
Apple seems to be taking the lead in security/privacy. If only they had folders that synced to all my devices, ideally storing noting in the cloud. You may say I'm a dreamer…

Apple Music surely had a rocky launch and created some real issues for some users. I however, think it is a natural progression for the service and Apple is doing the responsible thing thing by adopting it before it risks becoming irrelevant. Consider my lifecycle with music. As a teenager and young adult, I had a rather large CD collection I would carry around with me. When I deployed to Iraq, I tried to haul that entire thing with me overseas. When the iPod came out, I ripped every CD I had into MP3s and bought my new music on iTunes or Google Play. My collection survived because I uploaded it to servers when I had the chance (first Dropbox, then Play, finally Match). Then fm.radio became a thing and later Spotify. I jumped at the chance to stream music with Spotify and had a premium account early on. Over time, the service had ups and downs, but lately found itself on my wishlist-to-remove. Enter Apple Music. I signed up, turned it on, and was right to work. I know a lot of people did not have the same exact experience I had, but for me, it was simple. Immediately found my music on my iPhone, iPod, iPad, Apple TV, and other Macs. I was good-to-go! I did not need to download it (again, my experience is different), because of my unlimited plan. I did however end up playing around with syncing to the Watch.

As far as the angst by artists; some of them should realize how people really listen to their music. If you are a big artist and develop a sustaining fanbase, people might buy your album online. If you are an artists with only a few memorable hits, people are likely to simply purchase those select hits or realistically just youtube it when they get the desire to listen to it. In this always on, always available culture, it's trivial for people to google and click your song. Advertisements? No idea if that helps you, I haven't seen one in a few years.

And then there is this growing interesting in simply stealing the music. You would not believe the common misunderstanding of 'free' services online and people's general willingness to simply hop on to these things and acquire music or movies. It is far more mainstream than it was a few years ago. People just do not get or care about piracy. The first part of solving a problem is understanding you have one, right? People are generally more accepting of services like Spotify these days than actually buying the songs. Spotify and Apple Music exist because of culture.

As far as your opinion on the enterprise focus? I get it. I would love to go back to this small Apple company that was super focused on consumer satisfaction. Guess what? That is still Apple. Embracing enterprise won't change this. If I had to blame one significant event for the lack of quality of recent Macs, I would unfortunately have to blame the new architectures. Even so, Apple somehow manages to deliver a great product. I for one appreciate the shift for Intel if not for the simple ability of acquiring developer interests and being able to run more products.

would you think that u can start and finish an digital painting that normally on the desktop can rise to hundreds of mb's, in 600dpi on 3840x2160px. I dont think so. I am trying to find out what Apple wants with this iPad. Mainly because they are focus on the artist in their adds. Well, thats my daily work so can i start and finish an drawing like i do on my cintiq + computer. If not, why would i spent 1000$ + on this device? I am just trying to figure this out.

sorry, i didnt see the video. but the tweet implies it wasnt eddy but drew who did that...
am i missing somethign?

I agree. I'd have hurled something at him. That's beyond #%#(%# up to do to a crowd. The momentary excitement they felt... that turned into a feeling reminiscent of being kicked in the balls.

Now THAT's funny.

LOL

Some people just can't take a joke.

I find that even funnier.

Remember when Steve tried to buy Dropbox arguing that the whole business model was merely a feature? Not sure I disagree with his statement then, but funny that a Senior VP of Apple is now speaking at a Dropbox conference.
