Ugh.

Eddy Cue is responsible for Apple Music and is the worst thing that has happened to the great company in the past four years. Once, he was great, but times change, people change, and he has sadly not kept his side of things up.

His talking about everyone working 24 7 and being on call the whole time is the most depressing thing I've heard for a long time. It's the last thing I want to hear from an Apple exec and speaks of wholly the wrong direction and ethos for Apple to be moving towards. It was this stifling total immersion philosophy that led to the information overload Apple Watch, and is symptomatic of a disease at the heart of Apple. Cook bears some responsibility for that, too, but to hear these words from Cue suggest that he is culpable to a large extent.

Sift the chaff, Apple. You desperately need a reduction in your commitments and a complete overhaul of your core products, both in hardware and especially software and services. There is so, so much that needs improving, that you must let these peripheral products go—both released and unannounced—unless you wish to inflict long-term damage on your brand.

Please keep saying no and keep the media restless and cranky. Ignore your shareholders. Nothing matters but the product.
So basicly you're happy when apple doesn't release new products and focuses on the old lines. I think the macs and iphones are some of the best tech around. It's not like they abandon other departments for new ones.

Funny I suppose if you're under 10 years old!

What's the matter, Mister Grumpy-Gills?

Is that the age you lost your sense of humor?

I'm in my forties, but here I am, still laughing.

At least my life still fills me with joy.

I agree that Macs and iPhones are some of the best tech around, but Apple does abandon it's own offerings for completely new ones that destroy existing functionality, like say the Mac Pro, lightning connector (as opposed to more compatible ones like USB or their own, more mature 30-pin), 1-port computers, un-upgradeable HDs or RAM, smaller screens, larger screens (think iPhone), etc.

A retina Macbook Air obviates the Macbook. I for one would have bought a Retina 17 or 15 cMBP if sold along current models (like they do for the 2012 13" MBP they still sell without upgrading it--at the same price too).

An updated old Mac Pro sold along the new Mac Pro would have made a LOT of people happy.

There's rumors of a 4" iPhone because people loved them after Apple killed it (unnecessarily) for larger offerings (which were also welcome).

When is Apple going to get that we want MORE CHOICE from them, not less?

Well they pretty much abandoned the iPod line (which helped Apple become the successful company they are today) and when they do update the iPods (which is quite rare nowadays), they do a half-assed job with it. The 2012 iPod models (touch and nano) were and might ultimately be the last significant updates to the iPod lineup.

Also, by discontinuing the iPod classic, Apple completely alienated a core group of music listeners who prefer to have all their music stored locally instead of the unpredictable cloud services. The iPod classic was an iconic and important device for Apple and should've remained as an option for people who wanna store their entire music collections in their pocket (the original premise of the iPod).

With the introduction of Apple Music, it has become more aggravating and less enjoyable to listen to your personal music collection on iOS devices as the locally stored music essentially takes a backseat to the streaming and radio services that are part of the Apple Music subscription and app. There is a place for the radio and streaming functionalities don't get me wrong but they should NEVER have been crammed into the default music app. The music app should've continued to resemble and function no different that it had in the past: being a simple music player to listen to all of your locally stored music.

I'm in my forties too but I don't find that funny in the slightest, each to their own I guess but I lost my 'nursery humour' when I left nursery!

I also notice that in your 40s you still make assumptions as well, I also learned that assumptions don't generally bode well in everyday life :)

To each their own indeed, as I don't stop to consider whether something falls under a so-called "nursery humor" category.

I also did not make any assumptions, I asked 2 questions and made 2 statements that stand on their own merits.

It is you, sir/ma'am, who assumed I made one (or more).

What is funnier than Eddy Cue's so called joke is the fact you didn't even realise you made an assumption....that did make me laugh. :D

Even though we may need to beg to differ on our sense of humour or not, you have to admit Eddy Cue does come across as a bit of a ****.

Oh please can we stop it already with the death march .

Truth hurt?

An updated old Mac Pro sold along the new Mac Pro would have made a LOT of people happy.

Reading the Mac Pro forum on here you could not be anymore right! Makes you question why they didn't as I would think they would have had a market for it, the new design could have been sold as a test to see if people liked the new design or not?

Glad you're finally laughing, even though I told you I didn't make any assumptions, and you still think I did!

No, I didn't. "Yes, you did." No I didn't. "Yes, you did."

Hilarious...

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/assumption:

"a fact or statement (as a proposition, axiom, postulate, or notion) taken for granted"

A question is not a statement. 2 out of the 4 entries in my post were questions. As a matter of fact, a question is a mechanism by which an individual is able to not assume (take for granted) the subject of said question.

That leaves the other 2 entries in my post: statements which refer to me.

So "no, I didn't." Unless perhaps you believe you know me better than me? (See, another question!)

But it also appears (this is a statement that avoids assumptions also) that you just don't like Eddy Cue. Do you know him personally? Your statement regarding the "way he comes across" implies your assumptions about him as well.

So try again, bud.

He made a joke, and apparently you didn't like it. Boo-hoo.

Given this exchange, it's safe to assume that you'll make me laugh again, just like my profile pic.

Look at that, I was right. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Thanks for that.

The Ipod touch was UPDATED THIS YEAR with fantastic specs, it's actually a great value this year (it has the A8 like the last Iphone)! Really weird comment.

Please, it was a processor update nothing more. If Apple really cared about the iPod touch, they would've given it the same display sizes as the iPhone 6. Also, if they really cared about the iPods in general, they would continue to be updated annually alongside the new iPhones.

This ipod costs next to nothing and is perfect for what it does and you want a damn Iphone, give me a break

You completely missed my point that Apple doesn't care about the iPod anymore no matter how many times they continue to say "music is in our DNA"

The fact that we're still on the 5th and 7th generations for the touch and nano, respectively, from 2012 proves my point. All we have gotten since we're new colors and the occasional processor bump. Now that the iPod touch features the same crappy music app as the iPhone and iPad (thanks to Eddy Cue, etc.), the only iPods worth getting now are the shuffle and nano (kudos to that iPod for retaining the iOS 6-esque UI) since they discontinued the solid and iconic iPod classic.

That won't last long. It also means they lose more money then as they will be losing the interest off the cash pile. Investors would still drop their shares.

As it stands, it has gotten so large that if there was a catastrophic crash in the price of the stock, they very well could use the cash pile to take it private...Apple literally has that much money now (understanding, of course, that it is all not immediately liquid).

Company valuation is what, about $650 billion? They have over $200 billion as of now, and that will likely rise to $250-$275 billion by next year? If some series of events catastrophically tanked the stock (short of a human extinction event), the company would fall to a valuation where they could take it private.

That "Look under you chair" trick though haha I would personally rush and look under mine. The IPad Pro is truly the first of its kind from Apple. It is the first tablet designed for professionals. Even though there are a lot of criticisms with the device, saying it isn't really a 'Pro' device, let's just say that, everyone has their own niche. Not everyone will like one device, and the Apple may just be perfect for designers, but not for bloggers, or anyone who types a lot. Aside from the design though, the specs isn't a joke either. With the A9X chipset, huge resolution and features not present in the Surface Pro 4 as seen here http://versus.com/en/apple-ipad-pro-vs-microsoft-surface-pro-4 , Microsoft will most probably have problem with this device.
