I live in the reality where I made a mistake and mixed up dimensions 😄. Yup, actually pretty amazing. It will feel like a slightly larger and thicker iPhone mini that opens up to an iPad mini. Can't wait to get my hands on it!In what reality do you live where 7.6 times two is 9.5?
Having it less than a mm thicker than the 17 Pro phones sounds amazing actually.

That’ll be the showstopper for me. Touchid simply is not as reliable to use as faceid is. On my iPad Air it’s maybe 90-95% working vs 99.99% on my iPhone. And for the rumored price point I’d expect 2 faceid modules.Touch ID
Kuo believes the phone will forgo Face ID authentication, and instead use a Touch ID side button as a means to save precious internal space, and Bloomberg's Mark Gurman recently corroborated the rumor. Apple has previously integrated Touch ID into the side button of the iPad, iPad Air, and iPad mini.
I think it will be an iPad shaped screen, different form factor. More like a small pocketbook or notebook. Think iPad mini folded in two.I imagine I would interact with the external screen most of the time while on the go.... if that screen is a 5.5" thats a major major fail...... How is that even possible? The bezels would have to be huuuuge
It's unlikely to ever get Face ID because it would require twice the hardware of a bar phone (one for open and one for closed) and quite aside from the cost, the space taken up by 2 sets of hardware would be too much.Until we get Face ID then it’s a no from me
And until it has a SCSI port it's a no from me.Until we get Face ID then it’s a no from me
If it's actually more akin to an iPhone Mini when folded, I say GOOD. It'd be much easier to handle. How is a 5.5 inch screen similar to a typical iPhone screen?? That is an iPhone mini! With a thickness of 9-10 mil it is also double the thickness of an iPhone mini. That is one thick iPhone 😳
Since they’re making this super thin, even thinner than the iPhone Air (unfolded), and since there are rumors of under display Face ID coming sometime in the next few years, I wonder if they could have dual-facing Face ID in only one spot (front of folded screen and left half of unfolded display (same spot as folded side). That way you’re not taking up as much space. It's unlikely to ever get Face ID because it would require twice the hardware of a bar phone (one for open and one for closed) and quite aside from the cost, the space taken up by 2 sets of hardware would be too much.
Personally I prefer fingerprint anyway, so that woud be a win for me.
My S22 Ultra screen died in a freak drop accident last weekend, and I'm looking for a new phone - this interests me.
and what did we learn...Never buy a 1st gen. apple product.
That to me is a great size for a folded phone. If you want bigger, just open it up. This would be a decent iPhone mini replacement if it weren't for the projected price.Only a 5.5 inch outer screen?
It’s not a dealbreaker for me but it definitely hit the value proposition hard. Same goes for the small outer screen. The Fold 7 is incredible to see and hold. If we really are getting “two Airs” as the foldable that would be great. If it’s two 13 Minis then I think people might be chuffed.Until we get Face ID then it’s a no from me
