Not being able to code on the iPad (full XCode) is a bummer. They are rethinking what a computer is. This is going to take some time.

This reminds me of people who insist they want pro apps like final cut on iPad.

People want it because it’s not there, but if it ever was, the same users would just use a mac anyway and complain that the iPad experience isn’t as good.
I disagree. Since installing iPadOS 16, I've spent way less time with the MBP; the iPad is really close to enough when connected to display and mouse =)

Are we not actually quite close with Swift Playgrounds? I'm no developer but the announcements seem to suggest that you hardly need XCode anymore for Switft 😅

Then you’ve never deul booted before, which requires a full restart to enter a different operating system via the bios or boot menu

You might be talking about virtual machines but those come with inherent performance penalties
Hyper visoring nulls most performance penalty that used to be; Windows performs practically as well through Parallels in macOS as it does Bootcamped. I don't dual boot anymore unless I need eGPU...

If developing a legacy app or if one needs to use legacy libraries, they’re likely going to be using XCode on the Mac. However, if a developer creating a brand new app using Swift, they can code build and deploy to the App store all from an iPad.
