To everyone that's asking for an online messages app, it's been said time and time again that it's not possible. This is due to the high security and end-to-end encryption that iMessage uses. Here is a Reddit thread with more info on the topic: https://www.reddit.com/r/apple/comments/34akcp/why_isnt_imessage_on_the_icloud_website/
TL;DR: Apple doesn't want to be able to read your messages. If they made iMessage available through a web browser, they would be able to.

Hmmm. Sorry. I haven't experienced the issue. I see one of the solutions was to reset all settings, and it seemed to bring back the backups. Did you try that?
I tried, it didn't do anything to fix this, and of course forgot all my wifi networks so I have to recreate those again.

This morning blue tooth music stopped working in my car, I deleted, repaired, paired again, and again turns out there is a known issue with iOS 9.

I am very disappointed with Apple's recent mishaps with software, I guess in a rush to release things they no longer test their software properly. they are as bad as Microsoft now (who are actually better now)

I've always wanted this for OS X. This will be a decent alternative. It'd be nice to see it integrated into Apple Maps for OS X

Edit: Apparently this is a widget in the today view of the notification center now, thanks everyone for letting me know!

The widget is only in El Capitan.

There are many features that couples/families lose by having separate apple accounts shared in an iCloud "family." (i.e., a common, automatic photostream, etc.)

So until apple allows users to sign into Find My Friends from the non-primary iCloud account on an iPhone, the app will remain worthless to many families.

What are you talking about? I have a family account, and each user in my family is signed into FMF on their own iPhones, under their own account.

He means that sometimes it is better to use the same iCloud account for families. I.e., App data synced via iCloud, automatic photostream, etc.
This can't be done with a family account.
But FMF is the only setting that can't be used with a seperate ID to distinguish the phones from each other. For GameCenter, iMessage, FaceTime, Music, App Store, etc you can use different Apple IDs. Only the FMF App is linked to the iCloud account.

Okay, so by a "family account" you're referring to a single account that's being logged into by multiple people.

I suppose I just can't fathom why someone would want to do that. I don't want to share my data with my family members, and we can have a common photo stream, as long as we share to the family photo album. In the meantime I don't have to look at all of the photos that they take, nor them mine. Different strokes, I guess.

And means that I can't take advantage of family sharing with Apple Music....ughghhfghhh).

You can. I have the exact same problem, a @me.com iCloud account and a @mac.com for iTunes. When you setup family sharing, you can discriminate what account you'll use for iCloud and what account will your family use for payments.

It's me and my wife on one account. We never have to wonder "who's account is that picture of the kids under, mine or yours?" Or say "hey, can you share that picture of the kid to the album we share?"

It's all automatic.

Do people use Find My Friends? I find it too creepy that my friends can look me up to see where ever I am!

I use it religiously because all of my family are permanently on the service. It's extremely useful and great to use. We all love it but a couple of friends think it's creepy.

Ok from a single male geek is concerned I thought it was creepy that you find your friends but again I guess it makes sense in a family
