How about solar charging. Can Apple be first to market with technology every again?

The problem with the solar charging is the heat. Your mobile device, or any other electronical devices must not be exposed to a direct sun light, so its prety obvious problem. I once left the iPhone on direct sun light on the beach and when I came it was hot as hell and I got error messege telling me to cool it down.

Conclusion: The technology is cool but its problematic.

Hello!

I used Photoshop CC to greatly enhance the photo's quality. I retouched it, enhanced contrast, brightness, adjusted the perspective (now it's like it's photographed from the top), replaced the background, sharpened and reduced motion blur. I had to remove the original MacRumors.com watermark since it looked very silly after camera shake reduction. But i reapplied it.

This is what i got. What do you think? :D

Well,

I dont see any reason why people should complain, most iPhone 5 users will be upset if just after a year there is a radical new iPhone for the same price yet they are locked into a contract. The Carriers have fuelling this slow development process and Apple is more than happy to take it slow. Therefore Apple keeps an incremental update cycle, which also reduces any fragmentation issues.

Saying all that, I am going for the HTC One with stock android cause its BETTER! June 26th Baby!

I think it looks worse than the image on the front page?

Incremental Upgrades

On the subject of incremental upgrades, I would like to offer an anecdote.

I recently got my 4S back after my grandson (to whom I had given it) was given an iPhone 5 for his 8th grade graduation. I started using it as a Wi-Fi only web appliance for when my own iPhone 5 was charging.

I was immediately aware of how much slower the 4S was than the 5, and how small the 4S screen seemed after using the 5 for a year. Wi-Fi seemed to be slower as well; upgrades loaded much slower.

Like many iPhone users I was uncertain whether or not it was worth it to upgrade. I was very satisfied with my 4S, but I have to say that the upgrade was very much an improvement when viewed with the perspective of using the 5 for a year.

I guess I'll tend to upgrade rather than not in the future, even when there are no enormous improvements. After revisiting the (excellent) 4S I am glad I went on to the iPhone 5.

Why do some people expect Apple (or any other company for that matter, but especially Apple) to come up with some earth shattering product every 6 months - 1 year? We don't seem to expect this kind of "innovation" from other companies. When you buy a car, do you expect them to come up with some amazing new feature that has never been there before every year or so? Cars have stayed largely the same for a very long time with minor upgrades to them as the years go along. (This is just one example).

Really, what do people want these companies to come up with for a phone? It's a phone that does some computing functions. There is kind of a ceiling that they hit eventually that will limit these seismic changes in the technology. I agree that the 5S probably won't be earth shattering as far as style and features go...but for those who have an older phone, it will be an upgrade for them. Maybe not for 5 owners, but geez, you just bought your 5 less than a year ago, what the heck do you need a new phone with amazing new features for anyway? I'd say most lower to middle class people do not upgrade their phones until the 2 yr contract is up anyway because most can't afford to shell out $600-800 for a new phone just because a new one came out.

Alright, I'm off my soapbox. I don't want to offend anyone, not my intention. Just talking.

They did it from iPhone -> iPhone 3G. Who are you to lock Apple into saying new things can only happen every 24 months?

Bad example. You seem to forget that the internals of the 3G were exactly the same as the original iPhone with the obvious exception of the 3G functionality. Same 412 MHz processor, same 128 MB of RAM. Both "S" upgrades so far have kept the same design but added more power.

At best, it's keeping a good design and making an overall better device. At worst, it's a tradeoff between changing the exterior and changing the interior. It's not some clear cut "well they did this before, why not now?" kind of thing, in any case.

When Apple makes a great product even better, it's "failure to innovate." When they improve internals while keeping the shell they're "superficial" and put "form over function."

When another company makes phone after phone, year after year, sharing the same mediocre styling, the same people somehow fail to call them on it...

One thing for sure: change JUST for the sake of change would make Apple products worse, and the branding/marketing worse too. Deep down, trolls know that.

P.S. My caseless iPhone 5 (one of the first sold) looks brand new to this day. So (did my 2.5-year old iPhone 4.) I'm sure other companies' phones (generally plastic) are magic, immune to physics, and show no marks when contacting sand or sharp metal. But I'm happy with mine!

If the rumors are true and the fingerprint sensor has been implemented into the home button, I wonder why the "chin" of the front of the phone was left out :/

How can complain when you do not know what the updates are to this model? Yes, it looks the same - this is to be expected since it is an S update. Given the history of iPhone updates, it will have features the model before did not. I am just saying to the moaners to stop moaning until it is known what they are, then decide if you wish to update.
As for your nicks - you are to blame, not Apple. Look after your device and it will not nick.

Again, it's a rumors site. Thats what people do at rumors sites. There are two groups. Complainers, and those who complain about the complainers. We all fit into one of them. ;)

But it's not all based on nothing. We do, after all, have a history of six iPhones under our belts. Now that we almost certainly know it won't look different, we can make some safe assumptions about the innards.

How much stock of apple will drop upon dropping this snooze fest disaster called iphone 5s.. just wow.. wow..

----------

When will apple finally realize that there are markets for bigger phones? They can't make multiple sizes because of fragmentation issue but yet they are whining about the fact that they have to invent something else to meet expectation.. but yet they dont look at this market(bigger phone market that is which is just exploding..)..

"Can't innovate anymore, my ass!"

why do some of you expect the oceans being parted annually?

if youve invested millions or more into a tool line for a new phone design, wouldnt you want to get more than 1 year's use out of it as the latest design? you know, like your TVs, stereos, and other consumer electronics that hardly change form factors from year to year?

why would phones be any different? because youre bored?

----------

What if new technology comes out that could be easily added and would mean a big change, but Apple is set to release an "S" iPhone?

that doesnt really happen. apple has a roadmap that guides thier releases -- they dont add new fangled tech willy-nilly. see LTE or NFC.

Yes. There is a difference between expectation, and simply stating you are unimpressed. If I have nothing to be impressed about, because the new device isn't vastly better than my old one, I am going to say I am unimpressed. Perhaps that's the way of the world. But this is a forum. Where we come to talk about such things.

I really don't think apple would be dumb enough just to release this phone because people with 5's (including me) will not upgrade.

you dont understand how apple works. people like you who upgrade annually are the exception to the rule, not the norm. only phone geeks like us do that. normal people do not. apple builds mass produced products for the masses...those customers dont upgrade annual, they upgrade when their contracts end.

really.

And if not, I'm gonna get an android for a year and then come back for the 6.

nice story, bro.
