Apple's iPhone Air Battery Pack Costs $99, Extends 27 Hour Battery to 40 Hours

Some of you guys are really dense. The point of this phone is the light weight and thinness in the pocket, we are at the point where the tech is good enough that it doesn’t compromise performance much by making it thin. I for one am tired carrying the iPhone pro in my pocket especially during the summer with lightweight pants, this would be perfect.
The battery pack is for those occasions like on the plane or hiking where you need the extra juice, as it’s removable you can carry just the air during day to day. How is this setup anywhere close to “just get a pro instead”

Battery dis/charging is not 100% efficient, and wireless is even less so. This pack probably has a larger battery than the one in the phone.
^ this. Plus: some of us loved the idea of having a larger screen, but were always put off by the size of the Max. I have the feeling the Air hits the perfect spot display size-wise.
I was all in on this until I remembered and confirmed that it only has one speaker in the earpiece. The two at the bottom are mics only. I listen to a lot of podcasts straight out of my phone and that wouldn't cut it. That sucks cause I was really all about this phone...especially with the Pro back looking so ugly and not even offering a black or dark gray option.
Not everybody needs the fancy camera of the Pro model. Why pay for something you won't use? Bragging has nothing to do with it.
Yeah, I think not having a USB-C slot or MagSafe on both surfaces, like their first one, is an oversight.
As someone with a 16PM who will never go this big again, I COMPLETELY agree.
It has the same battery as the 16 Pro. That isn't a disaster.
it gets charged via USBC and can charge external devices via usbc as well.

I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would need a battery pack for today's flagship smartphones. If you are on your phone that much in one day, it's time to put the phone down and touch some grass!
Apple says no, probably because its too tall; however, it probably is compatible with other iPhones if they are in cases which are flush with the camera bump.
Your Pro doesn’t slow down the phone using software to give you more battery life.
Do people here really believe Tim cooked some new battery pro technology or what? 🤦

If thinness is your thing, and camera features are not, then you are the target audience for this phone.
How much grass can you touch waiting for your flight in an airport? I enjoy being able to charge while walking around or sitting at a bar or restaurant. I can even put my charging phone in my bag while listening with my AirPods.

Yes, you charge both with a wired USB-C cable to the iPhone. The battery pack doesn't have USB-C on itself.
I also think it blocks wireless charging so you need to use wired cables only on the iPhone and to charge the pack, they don't describe anywhere that you can charge the pack with wireless charging either.
Kind of sucks with how many other packs out there at least have a USB-C port.
