The SE2 is a low-cost, high performance device with an Apple logo. Of course it will attract Android users, who are largely price sensitive.

These market findings are similar to what we saw with the iPhone SE in 2016.

I don’t know. I don’t call people very often. The only people who contact me regularly is my boss texting me. I don’t need a smart phone for that. A cheap $10 feature phone would be enough.

Besides, as a person who carries his iPad w/ cellular to work and school, an iPhone isn’t really necessary. May be if the iPhone cost $200 at Apple refurbished store, I could justify purchasing it. But not $400 or even $300.
Cool! Great to know. Most people use smartphones at this point, though.

Do you really need a smartphone if you're stuck inside?
Absolutely. If there is a power outage or the internet goes down I need my iphone to carry about my business. I still do the same things on my iphone inside as I would when I'm outside or at the office, etc.

I still take pictures when I go outside (masked and social distanced of course, as required).

I went from a launch-bought 8+ to an SE to hold me until the 12 is released (got it for free trading in my 8+), and the smaller form factor has actually been really nice - I'm hoping to go for the rumored small-factor 12 and keeping the SE as a backup phone.

I honestly don’t understand why we can’t have a flagship phone in the smaller form factor. I would buy the smaller phone if it had all of the features. Price can be the same or even a premium since more engineering to squeeze it into the smaller form factor.
If there were 30-40 million of you there wouldn’t be a problem, Apple would be happy to make it.

I was one of those chumps going from a 6S to an SE. It's an upgrade but still not the phone I actually want.
Why don’t you buy the phone you want? Or are you trying to buy Apples from an empty cart? (pun intended).

In any case, you just bought a phone that’ll last five years. That’s not being a chump lol. That’s less than $7/month. Most pay many multiples of that every month to their carrier.

the rumored 5.4" iPhone 12 will be just a hair bigger than that. I think it will sell extremely well.

this is basically what I am waiting for to upgrade my X; however, the X is doing just fine. We’ll see if I really _need_ to upgrade (likely not)

Went from 6 to an 8+ bc I didn’t like the X but I still wanted portrait mode and telephoto lens. At first I actually enjoyed having a huge phone but after a while I started to hate how heavy it was and how annoying it felt in my pocket. So I traded the 8+ in for the new SE as soon as it was released. Unfortunately the battery life sucks and the camera isn’t the best but other than that I love having a smaller phone again. I plan on keeping it until Apple releases a small phone that 1) does not have a notch & 2) has the same exact cameras as the top tier model. Which means I’ll probably have this 2020 SE for the rest of my life...lol

6S is fast enough, same form factor, display. Both has crappy cameras. New battery? Joke?
Lol. 6S is on its last legs on updated iOS. Yes, same form factor, display, similar camera. That's why the price is lower. What don't you get?
