He was correct quite often. Especially when he summarized leaks that were already widely known - like when he predicted a fingerprint sensor for the iPhone 5S at a time when the first fingerprint sensors had already been leaked from the Foxconn production lines.

It's interesting that we've seen no leaked photos or videos for the watch. Apple did a really good job keeping this one locked up. With that being said, as much as I'm anticipating the new iPhone(s), I'm way more excited to see this.

There don't seem to be any real part leaks for the iWatch. So it can't be close to being in production . . . unless its form factor is so "watchlike" that parts are hard to identify in the supply chain. The analysts might be looking in the wrong spot.

Personally, I think this iWatch gets announced but won't be available for sale until next year. All this will do will be to tank all the current smartwatch sales and designs. Samsung and others will start to copy the form and function of the iWatch based on the announcement. And they may even beat Apple to production by cutting certain corners.

Not particularly, if the likes of Apple want people to wear it, it's very much about the aesthetical appeal and from a personal viewpoint I can't stand rectangular watches.

exactly my opinion...I really think that if any of these iWatch mockups become reality, iWatch is going to be a huge flop.

Watches are all about FASHION and 1 function-time. Since I would look ridiculous wearing 2 watches (my normal + iWatch), Apple needs to convince me to throw away my $100+ watch. Multiply this convincing by tens or hundreds of millions of people who wear watches already, and Apple has a big and difficult task.

Also, um, my watch works. Always. No bugs...no reboots...etc. Sure, the battery needs to be replaced every 4-5 years (that I do myself or can opt to pay someone $25-$75 depending on the watch model).

Laugh about what? About people who don't need 16GB? My wife has a 16GB iPhone, which always has 10GB+ free. Even if an additional 16GB would cost only 5 bucks, why should she pay those 5 bucks to get memory she never needs?

Aluminum? Gold plating? If you are going to play with the big boys, why not 316L or 904L stainless steel? Maybe even titanium or a type of liquid steel. Top it with a domed sapphire crystal and a decent water resistance rating...

Nothing really wrong with 16 GB if you just use the basic features.
Not everyone plays games on their devices, use Sat-Nav software or take pics or movies of everything they see.

Of course, more is better, especially if it doesn't cost more, but if they get a 16 GB model in for $ 100 less, IMHO that still is a good option.

Why would it need anything more than 1GB of space? It's an extension to your iPhone, not a media device itself. It'd be frustrating if we had to manage data on both the iPhone and watch. Makes no sense.

If the iWatch is only an extension to the iPhone, then I will be very disappointed. I can't imagine that Apple will be as unimaginative as the makers of all those ugly useless bricks which are currently being sold and announced as "Smartwatches", when in fact they aren't. Something that is only a second screen for another device is not a Smartwatch but a Dumbwatch.

I think the iWatch will have a design that will make all those smartwatches look like toys . Remember before the original iPhone was released all the concepts showed a flip phone with an iPod design , but once released , it looked completely different and modern, and all other smartphones from samsung nokia blackberry looked ugly and outdated compared to the iPhone , so maybe it will be the same with the iWatch .

If the iWatch really is just a device that basically spares me from the task of pulling out my iPhone, than it's useless to me. All those suggestions that basically extrapolate the idea of a "smart phone" to a "smart watch" are pretty dull imo.

That said, I can't wait to see what Apple will be introducing in a few days.

Rectangular smart watches were a pretty big thing 25 years ago.

I can already see the responses to the keynote on Sep 9: "Huh? What? That is nothing new! Casio invented the smartwatch!"

Aluminium is a guess. And a wrong one.

Even if it's hard anodized to withstand scratching, aluminium is too soft to withstand the mechanical strain a wristwatch is exposed to. It will bend, tear or pull apart.

I'm reserving judgment about the iWatch. Right now I'm using the Pebble Steel and really like the design, battery life and features.

Cost of the iWatch is also a concern. If the price tag is any more than $399, it could turn a lot of people off. Apple could price themselves right out of the market.

I'll buy this watch if it runs Yosemite running Final Cut Pro, Steam games, and VMWare running Windows 7 on it and that the speed is at least as fast as my Mac Mini.
