We're not talking about a phone. We're talking about something tiny around your wrist. With battery life.

I wouldn't be so fast. The iWatch actually could be a phone (and I hope it is). As with the latest Samsung Gear and Sony wearable devices that can make calls independent of a phone, we're looking at a possible iWatch-Phone!

If it has it's own sim card and cellular/3g hardware (as does the Samsung/Sony wristbands), you'll be able to leave your iPhone at home whenever you simply need light-weight, water submersible, Dick Tracy calling features (i.e., calling from the pool or out on a jog).

Here's hoping Apple figured out a way to 'share' the phone number with your iPhone, to keep cellular charges to 1 device, and not 2!

I think I'll wait until I see the real thing. Screen sizes and shapes can be deceiving. I'm not too keen on a rectangular display, although Apple's design (I hope) might change that.

I just honestly hope they show it off at the September 9th event.

Laugh about what? About people who don't need 16GB? My wife has a 16GB iPhone, which always has 10GB+ free. Even if an additional 16GB would cost only 5 bucks, why should she pay those 5 bucks to get memory she never needs?

because it wont cost more? the base model could simply be the 32gb one. apps keep on getting bigger and bigger too

I can't believe Macrumors relies on all the BS Ming-Chi Kuo is saying...

none of the predictions of this idiot have become true

except that there will be a new iphone

come on guys, do we need a so-called analyst to predict that there is a new iphone and a new ipad once a year ????

Does anyone have a drawing/rendering of what 1.3 and 1.5 in a circular diameter would look like?

The LG G Watch R has a 1.3" circular screen.

According to Kuo, the iWatch may have a rectangular design and will include 8GB of internal storage with 512MB LPDDR3. The wristwatch will be available in two screen sizes of 1.3 and 1.5-inches in order to accommodate different wrist sizes. Apple may use between two to four different casing materials, with aluminum and gold as two likely options.

That is not a rectangle :)

i can't even understand what are 8gb for in a smartwatch...
well, to hell with that, i can't even understand what's a smartwatch is for!

I'm just hoping titanium and/or ceramic are options. Some of us have metal allergies, and plastic just sucks.

Not that I've even made up my mind about whether I want a smart watch, but it'd be nice to have the option of actually wearing one if I decide it's worth buying.

So far every iwatch I've seen looks like its trying to find a solution to a problem that doesnt exist.

Exactly, and that raises questions about the form Apple's device will take. After waffling for the last week or so, MR now appears to be totally convinced that it's a "wristwatch." Especially after seeing so many lame concepts and failed attempts by others to sell high-tech watches, the "wristwatch" form and primary purpose for Apple's product seems to be the least likely possibility.

Yet, the beat goes on...

If the market really takes off I wouldn't be too surprised to see those options, along with Gold I would think and stainless steel. It will be interesting to see what Apple makes it's watch out of.

How can iwatch come out in 2014 without an ios beta for developers?

I am hoping that they don't make us wait until 2015 for this watch! But how can they release it when there has been no talk of an ios for it? We haven't seen leaked parts or leaked watch ios?

Great. Just great!
I'm hoping with you.
