One thing mentioned in the article, NOT mentioned in the MacRumors report (though I don't know why) is that Documents To Go is in development for the iPhone/Touch. This means Word, Excel, etc. for these platforms.

THAT's exciting! :)

Not having copy/paste is the main reason I have not purchased an iPhone yet. I have a blackberry that I use copy/paste on all the time. The main time I use it is when someone needs a someone elses phone number and instead of writing ot down or trying to remember it, just copy and paste it into a text message. Plenty of other times I use it.

For those who claim they dont use it, probably don't email or text as often. Please Apple, I've been dying for an iPhone but won't switch until it has it.

Rogers is Misleading the Canadian Public on Sales

Hi All,

Yes it is true that Rogers has sold out of iPhones. I have been to numerous stores and this is true. What you need to ask them is how many phones they have sold each day. In the three stores that I have been to, the largest daily allotment was 15 phones received on July 11th. This store's next allotment was on Monday and they received three phones!!! No phones were received on the Tuesday. 18 phones since laiunch ... WOW!!!

The situation was similar in the two other stores I visited. OK. They are not large flagship type stores, but they are a Rogers store none the less. So what gives? Why the extremely small allocation of phones? Why don't the staff know when and how many,if any, are arriving the next day?

So ... although it is true that Rogers is selling out of iPhones daily, they are not telling the whole truth. Surprise! Surprise! There are so few iPhones around that how can they not sell out. What they are not fessing up is how few phones they are selling out of!

I would humbly suggest that Rogers has completely "botched" the launch of an incredible product. From their initial unacceptable voice and data plans, to the last minute "fixed" data plan (still not unlimited data), to the very small number of phones available/sold, to the total lack of information when more phones and how many are arriving, etc. etc.

Oh ya, the Rogers staff is also very poorly informed on the iPhone, how it works and the various rate plans. Why???

It would seem that the Rogers strategy of confusing the customer has now been extended to their staff!!!

CONGRATULATIONS ROGERS FOR COMPLETELY BOTCHING THE LAUNCH OF THE iPHONE IN CANADA.

Nobody could have done it better!!!

I needed copy and paste today. I can understand if you're 13 and just texting your homies about your first wet dream, but anyone doing anything real on a computer uses copy and paste. get real. and yes, it IS a computer.

Um, it's already there both for text/images etc. and files in the Finder...

Maybe it is because I am still working in Tiger (because Leopard causes too much problems with some of my apps). In Tiger Cut&Paste is definitely only for text and images, but not for files in the Finder.
If it is already in Leopard, I am sorry! But it should be in every smartphone too ;)

man, i wish i had copy and paste when i had to input the long-ass security code for access to my friend's router.

it's about time copy and paste is released for the iphone.

please.

Mms

MMS is a dead end technology. much of the developed world, such as japan, has had PUSH email STANDARD on all phones since 2002. the fact that america now yearns for MMS on iphone is quite analogous to the world celebrating windows 95 when system 7 had been available for some time

Make copy and paste go to the top of the new feature list. It takes 15 seconds, tell them:

http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

Yeah, Apple does claim to respond to feedback. So, why not? I mean, out of all the features, this needs to be the first added.

Also, I'm honestly curious (not being smart-alecky or anything), but would anyone here actually have a use for stereo bluetooth? It's been hailed as a missing feature for the iPhone, but how important is that really to the general public? I'd really like to know.

I'd say no more important than cut, copy, paste and mms.

I personally don't hardly ever use MMS, but I do agree - it is a basic feature on so many phones, why isn't it included on what's arguably the most advanced phone today?

Simple reason? Cause Apple didn't get to it, nor feels it is that important. If it was, it would have been higher on the priority level.
