Maybe they want the color to blend in with the side bezel?

People are going to hate this. The way they hated the 5C.

And the way they hated the 5S.
And the way they hated the 5.
And the way they hated the 4S.
And the way they hated the 4.
And the way they hated the 3GS.
And the way they hated the 3G.
And they way they hated the original iPhone.

People always hate any new or updated product. And people share their hatred on these forums.

But people also loved all of those products. Different people, and in larger numbers. And they bought them.

Inspired by Android You Mean

Let me fix your headline "Apple's large screen iPhone 6 design inspired by the hundreds of other Android large screen phones."

straight cash baby, 4.7 will be bought in a heartbeat. still have to see the 5.7 model to decide.

Hopefully they follow the pattern they have started with the iPad Air and iPad mini. Virtually the same internals but different screen sizes.
At this early stage I wouldn't care if the processor was slightly slower than the larger phone if it allows for a better battery life.

I could live with that as well, even marginally less RAM and CPU, but anything more than marginal would be irritating.

That's a shame IMO. The 5C is quite ugly and cheap looking, note I said cheap "looking", it's not cheap feeling and actually feels quite solid, more solid than the majority (if not any) android phone. That kiddy look of the 5C though is what kept me from even remotely considering buying it, especially since I would only save a measly 100 bucks. A 5.7" iphone should be considered a premium product, it will probably be priced as such, so IMO it better not come out kiddy/cheapie like the 5C, or if it does it better be priced more intelligently than the 5C was.

anything that is based on those ugly, cheap looking 5cs will be dismissed my me immediately.I don't even want a 5c for free.
I hope this report is not true.

if it's true,I will ditch iPhone brand and will buy a Note 3 (or 4)..
my iPhone 4s contract will end this fall and I really want a larger phone.(iPhone),but only if it's nice and a premium-feeling product like the 5s.
I have zero interest in a large 5c combined with iPod nano.

the best design would be based on 5s but much thinner..(with larger screen of course)..

Sources also claim the 4.7-inch iPhone will measure at 14x7 cm, while the 5.7-inch model will be larger with dimensions of 16x8 cm. Possibly both models will be 7 mm thick with a protruding rear camera as seen on the current iPod touch models, although it the report indicates that the final version of the phone could be expanded to 7.5 mm thick to match the thickness of the camera module. The design for the phones should already be complete for a launch later this year, so it is unclear if Mac Otakara's sources are sharing information from earlier in the design process or if there is simply still some uncertainty in the sources' information.

Or you know, they could simply be talking out of their :apple:ss

to say people hate 5c because it is "new' is just funny.they hate it because it is ugly and cheap and there is no reason for it to exist.

I hate 5c with passion but I absolutely love 5s,5,4s and 4.

iPhone form factor

" … the 4.7-inch iPhone will measure at 14x7 cm … "

Nice form factor - precisely as my Casio FX-602P pocket calculator - from 1981 :p

It would be great to get an app that imitates this nice pice of technique on that new iPhone. It (the Casio) is still strong going now, use it every day (since I don't own an iPhone --- yet).

7 cm is just as wide as the HTC One X (also 4.7") released almost 2 years ago. That's too much bezel.

People always have "reasons" to back up their hatred for products. Even people who hate the 5s, 5, 4s and 4, can state reasons why they hate it and why you are absolutely wrong.

It's well known that the iPhone 5C didn't sell anything like they anticipated, so doesn't make any sense to base your next flagship model on an under-performing product.

in the US the 5c is one of the top-selling handsets in the carrier stores. and apple never publishes it's per-model sales vs expectations. so it's selling just fine.

but it's no surprise the 5s is selling even more -- it's the latest and greatest, while the 5c is the routine practice of last-year's tech in a $100 discounted SKU.

a latest-and-greatest in the style of the 5c would still be an incredible seller.

It be extremely stupid for apple to do this considering how badly 5C have sold compared to the 5S. People don't want premium plastic phones.

I'm psyched for a bigger iPhone, but goodness, I want better battery life. I currently use a mophie to get through the day and would love a slim case that keeps that beautiful design in perspective without having to plug in around early evening.

i charge my 5s once a day, gets me thru all day.

Yes it does, I always wondered how long apple would be able to put out super high quality builds.......I guess the 5S will be known as the last really nice build. I may jump to android before buying apples super duper magical plastic..............that nobody like to call plastic.

you realize youre responding to a rumor, right? anyway i guess you werent around when we reminded the other newbies that the second and third iphones were plastic. they also had awesome build quality, and were actually more comfortable in-hand due to the curves.

have fun with your malware bait!

Plastic, Apple and iPhone should not be mentioned in the same sentence ever again.

guess you werent around for the iphone 3G/S -- great phones that were best in class and best sellers.

----------

And the design of 5C had nothing to do with that. It didn't sell well because of its internals, not externals. It was last years phone in a new box.

and...? it was merely a tweak on the practice of selling last-year's phone in the $100 discounted slot. did you complained w/ the 4S was dropped 100 bucks and sold alongside the 5? why not?

and it's selling fine -- it was the #2 or #3 spot:

One could only hope Apple is really doing this.

iPhone 5C design? With Anodized aluminum instead of polycarbonate?

Also know as, THE PERFECT iPHONE.

No one hates the 5c. Forum whiners hate that it wasn't free.

The design of the 5c is substantially better and more practical for a device you hold in your hand and use than the 5s could ever dream of being.

The 5 & 5s are merely pretty. Chamfered edge, OOOOoooh. Big Deal. It is nearly as impractical as its predecessor the completely glass iPhone 4.

The 5c is the best form they've made to date. Now, replace the plastic with anodized aluminum, and you've got one perfect product.

Guys, what if the said phone is just the 6C? I severely doubt Apple would ever decrease build quality — the chamfered mirrored edge style has continued for a couple years now and it's not like they're going to stop now.
