I am waiting for V2 ou V3 if they are waterproof to maybe consider it to track my swimming workout.
Still I am not that sold on the watch. I wished Apple created a band instead of watch. I love my Omega and it will be very hard to let it go for a gadget.

I am always thinking should I buy or not. I have garmin vivo active and gets all my alerts, but always tempted to but apple watch :).

Wrist taps are harder to miss and easier to check, but they aren't inherently more intrusive or more distracting than a buzzing or dinging phone. Just like a phone, you become aware that you got an alert, but you don't have to check it out if you're busy.

Well personally I find them more annoying. Regardless, because the watch is on your wrist which is likely involved in whatever activity you're busy with, it is more likely that it will get your attention, and you will check it, than a phone tucked away in your pocket. I can't tell you how many times I've been in the middle of an important conversation with someone, and the phone in my pocket began to vibrate, and without missing a beat in the conversation, or taking my attention from the other people, I stuck my thumb into the top of my pocket and silenced the notification. If I was expecting a really important and urgent call, I could have easily interrupted the conversation, excused my self and taken the phone out to check the call. With the watch, the tendency is to rudely glance at the watch to see what the notification is, whether you are expecting something important or not. I would argue it takes much more willpower to avoid checking the watch than the iPhone -- one reason I stopped putting the iPhone on the table at lunches and dinners, unless I am specifically on call for something. In which case I apologize in advance.

In the case of the Uber spot though, it's an alert that's telling her it's time to flag down the driver. Ignoring that is irresponsible. It's not alerting you when the driver is 2 miles away, 1 mile away, half a mile, etc. It's just alerting you when the driver is pulling up. It IS necessary to know that status.

And the commercial shows her being irresponsible by dismissing it and continuing to kiss her boyfriend, taking her time as the ad suggests. Never mind the Uber guy who's trying to figure out if she's his fare or not. My initial point was less about whether the watch is more distracting than the phone in your pocket than how poorly the commercial makes the point it is trying to get across.

These ads are probably the best use of Apple's marketing budget. Keeping the watch alive and selling is crucial to Apple's narrative. It's important that public perception remains positive towards all Apple products.

I love these ads. They're a simple, yet tasteful representation of the Watch. The style one really speaks to me because it's really important to me to be able to merge my fashion tastes with my devices and make it work. I swamp bands all the time from sporty to dressy. Good job Apple.

LOL, it's so good to see them still stuck in their hates. Is it kinda tiring to post the same thing over and over? We don't want to read hundred posts of 'I don't like Apple Watch'. Believe me, it's kinda annoying.

No kidding and WE dont like to read dozens of posts of 'I love the Apple Watch'.
Goes both ways my friend. Oh well, welcome to the world of free speech.

They're not less intrusive either though, let's be honest.

She was busy though and she did check it. This was the main problem with the ad for me - it interrupted the moment.

Honestly it's about as tiring and annoying seeing the same type of posts complaining about someone not liking something. Just as tiring and annoying seeing posts like mine complaining about the complainers. It's a wash, rinse, repeat.

People have opinions. Not all are the same. People like some stuff and don't like other stuff. It's not an all or nothing proposition.

I don't either, however rare as it is, there is literally only 1 love post for every 10 posts of "I don't like <insert something here>" under a totally different thread, sometimes from even the same person. One starts to question their motives.

Screen too small - LOL. See those people with Moto 360, it's like putting a truck on the wrist!
Needs an iPhone - So it's better if you need to put a SIM card in your watch and type WiFi passwords using the on screen keyboard? I see why you need bigger screen then.
Needs to be recharged - Of course! Do you want it to use AA batteries?
So what? It should not go to the market at all if technology is not ready yet.
