What I wonder is if the LG UltraFine 5K Display supports Displayport 1.3.

The current MacBookPro can drive it with a single Thunderbolt 3 cable by sending two Displayport 1.2 streams, which the monitor stitches together. I understand that.

But, given a future computer that supports Displayport 1.3, can that computer drive this 5K monitor with a single Displayport 1.3 stream?

Didn't show up for me as available on the US website...but did show up as orderable within the iOS app. Go figure.

Agree. It's LG's display.

Apple had input as to the 2016 MBP features the display would support; i.e. handling display control data from the MBP, audio from the MBP to the display, web camera video from the display to the MBP, MBP charging via the display.

Don't like the bezels? Take it up with LG.
Yes that would mean it's codeveloped. I am talking about the design but rather components and features.

Did they pull the trigger too early?

$1000 for that ugly, overpriced monitor with poor build quality. Get Tim out of there.

It has better ergonomics than the thunderbolt display due to a height adjustable stand. It's likely that this one is also superior in other areas, but you'll have to wait for tests to determine that. That aside, I suggest you spread nonsense somewhere else. Trolling accounts are quite obvious.

Because it was codeveloped with Apple. LG wouldn't have made anything like this if Apple weren't involved. I'm not talking about design, I'm talking about the panel, audio, USB-C only, camera, software integration, components, etc.
Well shame on Apple for helping to develop such an ugly as f*** display. No cable management! WTF! Top border is larger then bottom.

We sold the most amount of MacBook pros we have ever sold. We are now selling hundreds of thousands of these monitors. We only made 25 MacBook pros though, and 16 monitors.

You are OFFICIALLY paying apple for NOTHING. You are getting literally no product. Just a promise of eventually getting something.

Can someone please tell me if this monitor will work with a 2015 iMac 5K? I can't seem to get a straight answer anywhere. Thanks in advance!

What cable management? For one cable? All communications between the MBP and display (display data from the MBP, display control from the MBP, audio from the MBP to the display, web camera video from the display to the MBP, and MBP charging from the display) is transmitted over a SINGLE (one) cable.

The display itself and bezels are LG's.

Any thoughts on how this will run with the Iris 550 on the 13 inch? Currently have one plugged into a Dell 24inch 4k Display using a usb-c to display port cable and performance is excellent at 1920x1080 HiDPI 60hz.

Might as well get a 5K iMac which doesn't look like a dog turd. The next iMac will have Thunderbolt 3 which can handle 5K over target display mode. That is, assuming there will eventually be another iMac, lol.
