When the iPad Pro went usb-c, I promised myself I wouldn’t buy another lightning port device. This proved to be very limiting as time moved on.

I travel a lot. Having a single plug type (and fast charging) is way more convenient than.... whatever Apple has planned.
That’s a promise which would be very hard to keep.

Apple still has tons of accessories using Lightning port, albeit the move to USB-C since 2018 iPad Pro.

My initial projection was iphone finally gets USB-C along with 5G cellular (just like Lightning made the debut with first LTE iPhone). Turned out I was wrong.

Sooo $39 gets you (UP TO) 15W charging

but if you pay $90 MORE you get 11W???
BYYYYYYYYYEEEEEE!!!!!! 😂😂

That’s literally any fast charger with iPhone
With my two Anker Qi chargers I nave never experienced the phone getting anything north of slightly warm. NOTHING more than using a cable.

On a side note. Why is the 'magsafe' adapter that came with the iWatch 6 USB-A not USB-C?

Leave it to Belkin, Anker and other third parties. Apple is good, but cannot get everything right (or perfect). This Magsafe mumbo-jumbo is a joke.

Lol could this thing be a bigger sack of fail? I submit to you it could not.
Yet imbeciles will line up and buy it.

The price is already ridiculous and double what it should be, much less needing buy a power brick and it basically doesn't charge much faster than a cheaper option that isn't mag safe "wireless" charging which most options are not different than attaching a cable. This one at least has that sort of going for it.

The MagSafe (iPhone) section can be used to charge AirPods with Wireless charging case and AirPods Pro, but the watch side can only be used to charge an Apple Watch.
Well then that’s even more reason to not buy this thing seeing as I don’t have a watch.

I like the idea, portability, design/simplicity. This is the combo i would charde every night and this setup could be a very nice, even elegant way to do it.
I dislike the price and limitations. Could these be fixed? Sure. Will apple do it? Let's see...

I could see thing getting some heavy discounts via third party sellers shortly after release. Apple will never lower the price themselves but they will do it via Amazon, best buy, B&H, etc.... So just wait a bit on this if you are interested and I'm sure you'll be able to get it for cheaper.

Someone said the same thing after they released the Apple Watch dock for $79, but some years later you almost never see any discounts for the thing. And people who want it will buy one (or many).

That said, I see the duo charger having a higher demand than the standalone watch dock thanks to is dual utility. That could influence retailers differently.
