Loss of Tony Fadell, Forstall and Tevanian is a big blow to Apple. These individuals have been responsible for just not great work but have spawned an entire industry by themselves.

It is a means to label some groups for affirmative action programs (reverse discrimination). Those who benefit from it self-label accordingly.Kind of off topic, but I've never understood the hyphenation of people whose parents are from "ethnic" countries. Nobody is ever described as a British-American. Or even an Australian-American.
am i missing how transforming mobileme into icloud (as it is now) is some work of genius?
Exactly. The loss of Forstall's Jobs couldn't be Forstall'ed due to the loss of Jobs.So Forstall basically lost his Job because of the loss of Jobs?

Here in CA it became so "hip" people started hyphenating their last names too. I mean way more often than the tiny amount that was happening before.

Oh, but Forestall liked a leather stitched calendar, so he totally should go.![]()
fair enough.
i hope he does well with siri and maps because both are awful from my experience.
Everything Forstall was in charge of stagnated. I mean after years in the wild Siri is only marginally better than when first released and is still in beta. Seeing Forstall grinning away on stage demoing how Siri now 'understands sports' while the completion is overtaking you made me cringe and demoing 3D flyover on maps while much of the basic cartographic data and even 3D data was a mess is another low for Apple. Hopefully now we can get some decent quality into these services and see come real improvements in iOS.
I suspect Forstall too is a victim of circumstances himself. I think IOS, maps and siri may have been too much for his team to handle on their own, yet no warning flags were raised (for whatever reason). Could be that he was just too arrogant to seek help?
Hmmm. A person who brings up "birthers" and "racism" all in one sentence.Would any person question the President's birthplace if he wasn't dark skinned?

Siri was clearly not ready at the time of the 4s release, yet it may have been forced to be ready to serve as a key selling point anyways. In this case, my key question would be, what was Steve doing, if he had still been as involved in product design as Apple claimed. He was still actively promoting icloud in WWDC2011, so wouldn't he have been working on the revised 4s at the same time?

The term reverse discrimination is a term of art to indicate a specific form:1. Reverse discrimination is a ridiculous term. There is only discrimination.
2. I would love to see some documentation that shows the ethnic hyphenated designation is "a means to label some groups for affirmative action programs" exclusively.
The term reverse discrimination is a term of art to indicate a specific form:
reverse discrimination - noun - the unfair treatment of members of majority groups resulting from preferential policies, as in college admissions or employment, intended to remedy earlier discrimination against minorities.
However I agree there is generally only discrimination.
I specifically talked about people who self-label, ie. African-American. It is notable who doesn't commonly self-label, such as Scottish-Americans, probably because there are no affirmative action (discrimination) programs aimed at them by the U.S. federal government.
"That's mighty white of you."1. Agreed. Your referenced definition for "reverse discrimination" is very good and I concede that it is very specific to majority groups. I still find the term ridiculous, but admit it is valid to use it in the context you expressed.

Since you are a mere forum post to me there is no context to presume other than the primary meaning as used.
