Why would you tell Apple you're using a 3rd party charger?
Some honest people actually might when asked. That's why I tend to tell lay customers to only use the charger that came in the box, or the official charger, just to save them some headache in the future.

Of course it is available now. I was prepared to purchase this on day one since I needed a new charger. Due to the delay though, I just went ahead and purchased x2 20W chargers instead.

For some reason they decided to make the UK one some massive brick of a device:

Note that its nothing at all to do with our phat plugs as they do sell a fold away single port one. All they'd have needed to do here is make it slightly thicker than the US one and it would've fit fine.

The 20w one for comparison:
Because your plug is the size of a lawnmower.

Sure, if they're UL Listed, I'd consider them. If not, nope.
I wouldn't even trust a UL Listed mark. Unless you're going to verify that's legit and just not some stamp you would never know. I'll stick to brand names I trust and know.

Some people don't care and they'll buy the cheapest store brand charger available. You should watch a YouTube channel called bigclivedotcom. He goes into how those chargers are dangerous. Even if it doesn't cause a fire or electrocute me I'm not even going to risk it damaging a $2k laptop to save $15 on a charger... That just doesn't make sense IMO

Doesn’t have to be the ones I posted — I saw them yesterday in store and thought they were a great value and almost considered getting them. They’re both GaN from what I saw in store. Given that they’re more powerful, I’d expect them to be bigger.

Also, heyday is Target’s store electronics brand like Insignia is to Best Buy.

But like the Anker one you posted, my point was that there are comparable products you could get for half of the price from a reputable company, or you could get something twice as powerful for the same price.
Not arguing in favor Apple here, but those aren't comparable products. They're huge and from some off brand. The second one isn't even close.

Something like this is comparable:

None of those are UL listed. Use at your own risk.

Because as everyone knows, it takes Apple 5 years to get something right.

This 90W Ravpower dual USB-C GaN charger was as low as $19 a couple weeks back. Even now, $30 is a great deal. Choice of black or white.
I have one of those (65W) version and it won't charge my M1 MBA half of the time. I'll plug it in, and nothing happens. It's very frustrating. Apple charger works 100%

Why would anyone opt for a bigger charger (i.e. the standard over the compact)?
I assume the bigger charger still has the removable duckhead plug that allows a longer power cord to be attached to it. Said cord would be three prong so the device would be grounded.

That's the only reason I can think of. And honestly, just get a longer USBC cable.

Long overdue. For a company that values the planet, all those plastic bricks were good for the bottom line but not good for Earth.

Sadly, I have too many of those white plastic bricks to buy these. But I would have loved to given the smaller size, convience, and less environmental impact.

The longer USB-C cable isn't an option if you want to use MagSafe. I know there used to be USB-A extension cables but not sure about USB-C. Either way I'm thinking with Apple Silicon much of this is moot because you won't need to keep it on the charger for long.

There are great quality alternatives long before this product got released. Why would I choose this one over a 3rd party that delivers the same, if not better, and same high quality?
You have the convenience of
None of those are UL listed. Use at your own risk.
Now there’s a valid point. Question… Can you only infer this from not seeing it on the product listing, or is there some searchable database?
