Not very compact design. It will take up space of 2-3 power sockets. Having the prongs on the shorter design would of been a more practical design.
The non-compact adapter is compatible with adapters like Apple's kit. They take the same adapters as the usual MacBook chargers do.Do these chargers work with travel adaptors? I live in Japan but often travel to the UK. So if I bought a charger in Japan, travelled to the UK, and plugged it’s two Japanese prongs into my Japan/UK (3-prong) adapter, would it work?
No. Since Apple’s using USB-C you are expected to buy whatever USB-C charger you like. If one suffers from nullumaluphobia, this one is an option.Sorry, but $59 is a rip-off for a 35w charger in 2022, especially when everything is moving to USB-C charging. Wasn’t the big complaint that Apple’s walled garden of connectors was stifling innovation and inflating costs? Now we are expected to swoon over an underpowered, overpriced commodity device (which they also intentionally stopped supplying with their phones)?
I mean, it seems well designed, but, as engineering is about trade-offs, I’d say they just made different trades, not that it’s better. You guys have switches on the outlet. I think that's pretty cool and safe. Other than the outlet being huge it does seem to be better.
Stop, you're making too much sense. I'm thinking about getting it for travel but to charge my iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Now I can charge iPad and iPhone from the same plug? Sign me up.I can see people using this for business travel, where space is at a premium. I’d love to take this with me to charge my MacBook Pro on the road. I typically only need to charge it at night, so I don’t need fast charging. I also don’t particularly enjoy carrying around giant, 96 watt power bricks in my luggage.
Because some number of people will pay for it?yawn. Another overpriced apple accessory. 60 bux for a dual usb c charger which on average exists for 1/2 that price. But why??!
Yeah, but you’re talking about folks that like Apple’s products. Expecting folks that like Apple products to NOT buy Apple products is like expecting someone that likes to drink to NOT take advantage of an open bar.sadly that’s true. some gotta have it cause apple made it. instead of not buying it and making a point so apple stops this ridiculous habit, they feed them cash.
Don’t get me wrong.. i’ve had iphones and ipads for ages. but when i need a case or an adapter or cable, I am not going with apple stuff.Yeah, but you’re talking about folks that like Apple’s products. Expecting folks that like Apple products to NOT buy Apple products is like expecting someone that likes to drink to NOT take advantage of an open bar.Fortunately, the vast majority of the 6 billion folks in the world have never and will never own an Apple product.
That’s not funny at all. Tesla charges $400 for a wall charger it used to include in its cars for free. By your logic it should be powering a SpaceX Falcon. For $60 it damn well better charge a Tesla.
Ah, so Tesla is following Apple's footsteps to care more about the environment. How nice of them. That’s not funny at all. Tesla charges $400 for a wall charger it used to include in its cars for free. By your logic it should be powering a SpaceX Falcon.
Big corporations bud. That’s the only way they know how to make money.Ah, so Tesla is following Apple's footsteps to care more about the environment. How nice of them.

You have to consider the point of view of a lay consumer and the market situation. For example, in my country, there are so many fake and dangerous chargers everywhere. Zero accountability for manufacturers and sellers as there are no consumer protection. A concerned lay consumer might feel better to just buy a first party charger, even if it's more expensive. Better peace of mind, and in the bigger scheme of things, it's a small percentage of the price of a Macbook itself.yawn. Do you have a link? I eventually landed on this page and I feel like I'm going down the wrong path. You can lookup the databases on UL Product iQ page with the Anker model number.
So why didn’t they make it 40W so you could fast charge, say, an Apple Watch and iPhone at the same time? That seems like the obvious use case…Sure it will. The wattage would be split. It's not for fast charging. That's what the 67 watt charger is for.
But why wouldn’t you buy a much cheaper third party 40W charger that could actually fast charge both devices at the same time??Stop, you're making too much sense. there never is compact anyway in UK since the plug type thereCompact version is unavailable in the UK
