The only 2 reasons someone would buy iPhone X is to show off or has no other major device to work with so it uses only iPhone for everything, only then I can somehow justify the pricing.. damn Apple's greediness.

I would be laughing if majoruty of sales come from se. Forget ip7, it has recording noise problem.

Crazy levels of fragmentation

I follow apple news fairly closely and even I can't get my head around all the different options and price points. How is Joe public off the street going into an Apple store going to choose amongst all those mid tier options?
They seem to be able to do it just fine with android phones where there are a wide variety of similarly featured and priced models.

you are kidding right ?
well the geekbench scores allow us to compare the processing power against a common baseline. The 7 plus scores at around 3300 while the fastest macbook air is at around 3500. I guess the iPhone X would easily beat that.

edit: these are single core results

I'm buying it for FaceID!

No they don't. That's the whole point. People might know about the Galaxy S8 or Note 8 but beyond that the myriad android options are confusing to many. People just pick whatever their carrier offers that is in their price range and has name recognition

I think a lot of people will default to the iPhone 8 ... because the X is too pricy.

Still at these prices I'm seriously reconsidering an Android phone.

I'm coming back to Apple and my choices for a phone are...

Regular iPhone with a meh camera and 2011 screen, Plus version which is huge and has a better camera and decent screen, and crazy expensive phone where I lose the fingerprint sensor. Plus I'd be giving up my headphone jack...ALL of my headphones/buds use that. I'd be gaining the integration (now that I have a macbook pro and 10.5 ipad)...and getting rid of all of the annoyances that Android has brought me.

WOW, iPhone X in Canada is $1,319.00 + 15% HST = $1,517.00 and that does not include AppleCare. I guess at this price I'm out.

It’s expensive in American dollars. Seeing the pricing is other currencies makes me ill.

Even for the most die hard Apple loyalist has to have cause for pause before laying down that credit card.

I know I would.

FaceID is worth the extra $.

Why? It's slower than Touch ID, less flexible when it comes to unlocking your device from various angles..

If its off to the side I cant just press home to unlock it.
If I'm in bed and just wanna unlock it quickly I need to pick it up now and face it.
It takes longer to unlock your device.

The whole reason apple worked so hard to try and sell people on FaceID is because they know it is inferior when it comes to speed and convenience and couldnt make Touch ID work.

I was under the impression that Apple financing was the sticker price divided by 24? Has it changed with this new round of phone?

They are referring to the payments for the Apple upgrade program, which includes Apple care, and the option to upgrade every year. If you are just financing the phone, then it would be the price divided by 24.

Nah. It just works. Perfectly.
