I really hope to see a "true" Apple TV in the near future :apple:

We all do. I hate to be a troll but I would rather have an updated Apple TV than a calorie counter. There are already apps and nice hardware for that.

I don't want headphones.I want a imac pro with black case and retina display that would be sweet.

As big as that phone is if people don't rotate arms they are going to grow one arm bigger than the other. Its like wearing an arm weight.

3.95oz. is an arm weight? I wish. Easy way to bulk up -- just switch arms every day. :D

Honestly, I find it awkward, not heavy, to wear on my arm. I either put it in my pocket for a slow jog or hold it for a faster pace. Now the iPhone 6 could be a bit unwieldy at 4.7". We'll see. The 5.5" is def unusable for running except for maybe the Michellin Man

What a WEIRD and annoying song!! And I don't mean weird in the way an Apple Store employee with all the piercings, tattoos and rainbow-colored hair is weird. THAT is actually normal in the world of Apple. What's weird is some retro workout song by Robert Preston (the Music Man and the Last Starfighter's mentor) singing about CHICKEN FAT! WTF?!? Doesn't exactly inspire me to run out and buy an iPhone! The video and the use of the apps is very cool...but get rid of that song!!!

Hold on, I think I see your problem. Yes, right there.... you appear not to be listening to this through Beats headphones. You're welcome.

Because of the song I'll never purposely watch that ad again.
Because of all those products they showed I couldn't keep up and lost interest.
Because of that ad...wait...HEY, they've ALREADY got a lot of health stuff in they're ecosystem, don't they!? Wow! Good job. I guess I can always turn the volume down, and where is that list of apps again? :D

An annoyingly good ad.

A more useful health app

A more useful health app for me would be one that smacks the cookie out of my hand right before I eat it

The song made this ad awful. Any other gym type music would have made this a playful and interesting apple ad. But this song is from the 60's and not a great song that would be listened to now. Who is planning on adding this song to their iPod or iPhone after this commercial? Crickets.... Almost no one. The ads lately have been off with an exception to big big love. The U verse ads have been ok, but think back to the ads for iPod and iTunes when they had great songs and were fun.

Song

Hideous, hideous song. Who's idea was that? The ad's pretty OK otherwise, nothing special tho.

It's genius actually. One day we'll hear the story behind it. They're "innocently" using almost-controversial songs that get people talking -- the "chicken fat" song, the Pixies "Gigantic"...

That's what makes the ad stand out... the fact they are playing a long forgotten school song. It stands out, esp., for people who grew up in that era who haven't thought of that song for 35-40 years. It makes them stop and reminisce. For everyone else its just a playful song from the 60s. If Apple plays something more mainstream that everyone is familiar with the ad becomes background noise while getting a snack. The song makes the ad. Turn off the sound or add any song you want from Jock Jams; it's just a boring montage then.

Clearly there is a generation gap in understanding the ad. More proof its targeted to a specific audience; one not necessarily perusing these pages.

One of the real problems, it seems to me, with the new Apple commercials is that they have lost their "cool" factor. That song is not cool. Seeing a fat guy get on a scale that shows he gained weight is not cool. Watching a nerdy guy ride his bike in a suit is not cool. Consumers don't flock to the iPhone because of the ecosystem-they flock to it because it is cool and they want to look cool. Geeky programers who work for computer companies and approve stupid ad campaigns buy a smart phone because of the huge app store. A commercial about using the iPhone for fitness should have been like a Nike commercial. Show a bunch of fit people pushing themselves farther and faster because of their iPhones. Make me want to buy an iPhone so that I will be like the elite athlete I see on the commercial, not the fat guy who can't lose weight.

It's airing during the Stanley Cup Finals, it doesn't necessarily match to have an ad about how sleek and sexy the iPhone is. Having an ad about fitness and exercise, etc, though - that makes sense and matches the mood.

Well, since cool is impossible to define, I'm not sure how you can say the ad isn't cool. Obviously, what's cool to me may not be to you and vice versa. There was a time Pabst Blue Ribbon was just another beer, then somehow it became cool. I'm not sure they actually did anything to it make it so.

The ad caught my eye even before I realized it was for iPhone because I have run up those same steps (Baldwin Hills/LA), too bad they're never that empty lol.

PS - Does anyone know if the song is on iTunes? I looked last night but saw nothing.

Two things

First, fried chicken skin is awesome. It's the chicken version of bacon.

Second, at first I rolled my eyes at the general concept of fitness tracking because it's a fad as is every other fitness product. How many Nordic Tracks do you see at swap meets and garage sales? That said, when I saw the ad on TV, I saw a different class of app in the tools that help you improve your technique. I personally want to know what the golf swing app is because I'll buy that today.

Having skimmed through this thread for a similar post, I read the post about the swimmer placing some gadget next to her phone on the side of the pool and the poster wanted to know if that was the iWatch. This got me thinking if the iWatch is going to have a motion tracking chip in it like the Invensense MPU9150. That would be a way to monitor your golf swing for speed and wrist rotation. Bluetooth the data to your phone which would be filming your swing and plotting the motion data right on the video image.

Anyone know what these apps are featured in the ad?

Thank you!

----------

The TRX FORCE app I wrote (in the video at 0:40) unfortunately didn't make it onto the list beneath the ad at Apple.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/trx-force/id575378654?mt=8

That didn't dampen the fact that MY APP WAS IN A FREAKIN APPLE COMMERCIAL!!! :)

Wow, kudos to you. I'd go ape crazy (in a good way) knowing that my app got featured in Apple's ads. Well done. ;):D

Did Apple reuest your permission or notify you before they decided to feature your app in their ads?
