I actually am pretty shocked with all the talks of production cuts and all.

It's a great phone though. Tbh as Apple prices continue to soar, it's an option I'll consider in the future.

Apple's iPhone XR, released in late October, has been outselling the iPhone XS and XS Max every day since it first launched, Apple's VP of product marketing Greg Joswiak told CNET in an interview published today.

I want this guy's job - Apple must be paying well for making such statements that say nothing. I wonder if he gets performance pay for today's stock movement.

Joswiak did not comment on reports of iPhone XR production cuts, and instead reiterated his statement that the device is Apple's best selling iPhone at the current point in time.

Obviously he won't say anything about the reports - he didn't even mention the actual sales numbers! Simply the best - very bigly so!

"It's hard to think of a higher calling than selling products that save people's lives," he said.

Now, ladies and gentlemen, please meet the newest savior - Apple!

Went to Apple store and noticed that Apple keeps the Xr completely separated from the Xs, so there is no way to easily compare them side by side.

Is this normal in other Apple stores? If so, guess they realize most folks wont bother with Xs

you gonna downgrade from OLED to LCD?

But you then upgrade to a lot longer battery life!

But this doesn't fit with "it's the worst iPhone ever' rabble I have been hearing.
If they only sold one iPhone XR more than XS or Max this Statement is true without telling how many actually were sold and hence this Statement can't be used to make the XR look like a hot selling item. Its just sells better than the XS and Max. I believe this was true for the SE too.

Tim Cook:

"Crap, we told everyone that we wouldn't be releasing unit sale going forward so we can cover up slowing growth. Now that we are tanking, what should we do?"

Greg Joswiak:
"I can help...." ;)

And 1 more than iPhone 7, 7 plus, 8, and 8 plus. So basically a ton.

And that’s what people on here don’t understand, when loyal, long term customers are leaving, it should be a huge indicator that the ship has problems. Obviously it won’t crash over night, but just like Microsoft found out in 2013, Balmer’s 10 year leadership drove them into the ground. I see all the bad decisions that Tim makes and they are starting to add up.

Andriod is a very good operating system right now, I know lots of people who made the same decision as you and are very very happy.

Yep! I started with a 3GS, skipped the 4, then had every one from the 4S to the 7. I looked at the X, decided it wasn't worth the price, and waited a year. I don't like the current line up either, so a few weeks ago, I traded it in for a Galaxy S9. Cost to change: £329. Cost to change to an iPhone XS: £839.

I bought my first Macbook Pro in 2010, then sold it and bought an 11" Macbook Air and a Mac mini in 2011. I was looking to upgrade in 2016, but that's about when the price rises began, driving me to look elsewhere, and I bought a Surface Pro for half the price of an identically specced 12" Macbook. I built a small PC to replace my Mac mini, with an 8th gen i3, for £253 all in.

I still have an iPad, but I'm not planning on replacing it any time soon - and when I do, if the prices stay anywhere near the current level, I won't replace it with an iPad.

Why would anyone trust rumors that have come out every year this time saying the same thing for 4 years straight and they have never ever been accurate. I just wish there was a legal penalty for posting information without proof that effects stock prices. It would end this drivel.

Isn't this year the first time that Apple announced that they won't be giving out the actual numbers? That alone brought the price from $233 to $172!

As long as Apple doesn't disclose the actual units sold, we can speculate all we want. Headline news such as this doesn't mean a thing since we don't know how many XRs, XS and XS Max were sold. However, each individual will decide for themselves in how much they want to spend on a phone.

The average consumer won’t see the value in OLED or 3D Touch as much as the value of saving $250 or more depending on storage so this is not surprising. Happy XR owner since launch here!
3D Touch is tremendously convenient. I use it everyday. The problem is Apple can’t write a half decent user manual to tell folks about hidden features that might not be instantly obvious. Hence most user never find out about it.

Wow, really? Nnooo I’d have never thought that would happen...

If the X has zoomed screen mode and the same camera is probably swap my XR for it, just the size is a tad too big, the camera makes me keep it :)

Maybe next year we’ll get an XR Mini? But my XR camera is frigging awesome!

Laughing at all the folks who believed the XR production cut rumors.

And they are laughing at the people with poor reading comprehension.

Apple says the Xr has been the better selling phone since October. It doesn’t say that the Xr outsold the X or Xs, or any phone for that matter. Apple also doesn’t say if they sold as many units as they hoped. In fact, they declined to comment when asked if production orders were slashed. Don’t you think Apple would have refuted that rumor if it wasn’t true?

But we don’t have a reason to believe the XR isn’t successful either. I mean think about it, it’s highly competitive against the XS, it’s $250 cheaper, and the average consumer will see Face ID, the new form factor with a variety of colors. This phone long term will be very successful regardless of what these ‘analysts’ forecast.

Wow. Sales for the XS and XS Max must be REALLY bad.

I’ve been an iPhone guy since the beginning. I’ve owned nearly every iteration.

I didn’t upgrade to the X last year and this year I went a little crazy and ordered a Pixel 3 XL.

I got the 3 XL as well. It's not all I hoped it would be but the camera is supreme so am happy. Thought I'd mention in case you are at all interested, I run the app "Nacho Notch". Really improved the phone for me.
