Yeah, he's similar looking, but no. Close though!

I had a talk with the stores manager - or "Store Leader" - Mr. Mike Camacho, and showed him pictures on my iPhone of some of the Apple personalities I've over the years in similar events, including Mr. Ive.

I have a feeling if Jon was at the store, Mr. Camacho would have mentioned it :-/

Funny. Easiest way to be "socially accepted" in today's society is to be seen at the Apple store carrying around the latest, black IP4.

I mean, cripes, Rahm Emanual was there campaigning?

The fact that the "boomer" generation is fully on-bard with the Apple frenzy means the frenzy is over.

The boomers, huh? Who the hell do you think was buying Apple products all those lean years?

Just a thought: Maybe the United States should invest more in their social and educational systems (especially to support socially weak groups) instead of starting a new war every couple of years. Maybe your corporations should outsource less jobs to China and focus more on the happiness of their employees and customer satisfaction than on shareholder value alone. Maybe the American people should learn to define themselves not solely through consumption and spending money. Maybe uncontrolled capitalism is causing more harm than it is doing any good. Maybe your nation would have a more balanced social structure and a better economy with less crime problems then. Maybe.

Ah, yes... I mean no... I grew up in a black community, going to a black junior high through college. There is one thing I learned; no matter how much money you throw at one's education, you won't change a thing. I personally saw the people that wanted to get an education, no matter their background/story/history/etc..., got an education. The ones that didn't want to learn, well didn't.

So I have to respectfully disagree with your there. Othe than that - valid points.

I stopped into the store earlier today, it's really quite nice - much nicer than the Michigan Ave store in my opinion. Hard to think back and believe this location was once a run down gas station. Apple did a great job with the property and, despite my reservations the store is very large and spacious (except for the dozens and dozens of people who decided to show up today). The exterior is quite nice and there is a lot of open sidewalk and patio space, along with a nice fountain and reflecting pool. Very cool.

And lol at some of the people in this thread warning us how dangerous this area is.

The only downside is that the Borders parking garage, which used to be sane free, now has pay stations and attendants.

I'm not a boomer (I'm 40) but are you serious? You meddling kids (sorry- ancient scooby do reference) buy a couple iphones or iTouches and you think you saved the company or something? Have you owned a Newton? Have you owned a 603e piece of crap just because it ran Mac OS6.x and not Windows 3.1? I'm real glad you're buying the latest shuffle or touch or even iphone, but last I checked you didn't buy a cube, or a tam, or a $3000 G3. Or a hockey puck for a mouse. How much stock do you own?

I felt like the frenzy was over when I saw every teenager with some Apple device. Used to be a little different. Not a sign that you'd saved up all your allowance to buy a shuffle. Heck, I paid $599 for my iPhone and they still made me sign a contract. But I bought some stock first! Paid for that phone time and time again...

I still haven't opened my tshirt I got at the Apple store opening in Atlanta at Lenox from roughly ten years ago. It's in a clear plastic tube. Any bidders? I don't even know what it looks like except I can tell it has an aqua apple logo.

this has been the only post all weekend....is there anything else happening...is there any one more thing....? :(

How many husbands do you have?

Haha is this the same Lincoln Park!? Apple you better hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your husbands cuz they're rapin' erybody out here!

LOL - just amused that "wife" is singular in this and "husbands" is plural....

I wonder if the old Mormon practice of polygamy embraced having multiple husbands - and whether it distinguished between same-sex husbands and different-sex husbands.

I was at the opening and took this pictures.

I only took one of the general crowd and store since it was raining and I didn't bring my own or take an Apple umbrella.

This is the best and closet shot I got of Rahm from the front. He actually ignored me. That was a smart move on his part as a big proportion of Apple fans are liberal/democrats, his base.

He came out of nowhere...literally hopped over the fence. It was very bizarre and very sudden. Especially since he was completely alone. I was right at that corner. So, I was one of the first people he saw....it wasn't that crowded yet. I kind of ignored him as was typing something. He patted my on the shoulder and said, "I'll leave you to your technology."

It will be funny if/when he doesn't win.

They need to expand the store at Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL. It gets a ton of foot traffic.

Rahm...

I was at the opening today. Had lotsa fun and eventually purchased the new MacBook Air (11").

Among those who made an appearance was Rahm Emanuel, former White House Chief of Staff and current candidate for Mayor of Chicago:

Check out the Steadicam rig behind him. Don't think he was there to buy an iPod....

He's climbing in yo Windows™ and snaching yo PC of..

He's climbin in your Windows, snatchin yo PC up, So you better hide your macs, hide your iphones, and hide your ipads, cause they robbin errybody out here. You don't have to come and confess, we gon GOOGLE YOU, we gon GOOGLE YOU. So you can run and tell THAT, iBoy!

Boomers...

The boomers, huh? Who the hell do you think was buying Apple products all those lean years?

Don't bother arguing with him. Self-important 20-somethings with Mom and Dad's credit card know much better than you do.
