I've been with Apple since the 1980's as a contained ecosystem with the best privacy features. This will be the straw that broke the camel's back. Have assiduously avoided anything and everything Google. If Apple puts anything from Google on my phone, iPad, laptop, or 3 desktops, they will all be trash canned. Done with Siri, done with Apple.
Just wondering. What did you do when Apple incorporated Google Map as the default Map app, when Apple launched its own Map app in 2012?

So what are the benefits for you in terms of Apple‘s market cap?

Would you rather have a company that innovates or are you just happy about Apple‘s market cap?

Tim Cook’s Apple is just all about the money while lacking in the innovation department. Other companies focus on innovation, not just money. Market cap doesn‘t reflect innovation.

From think different to "f*** innovation, think money".

I was responding to you saying:

"When will Tim Cook finally step down? He's the culprit of all things going wrong with Apple the past decade."

The benefits for me in terms of Apple's market cap? I'm an investor in Apple so I don't think it's needed to explain further on that one. But y'all have these bizarre ideas of what a public company is supposed to do it seems. Their point *is* to make money, nothing else. Tim has been doing that in spades since the Steve Jobs days.

"Think Different" was in the late 1990s when Apple was just about dead and they had to bring Jobs back to try to save it. Thats a different universe to today when Apple is one of the biggest companies on the planet and frankly still innovating like crazy. Oh, I'm sorry, you expect them to come out with something as revolutionary as the iPhone every year? Good luck with that.

Which other public companies are focusing on innovation and not concerned about profit by the way? I'd love to see the list.

I never said AI was bad. At almost 70 years old I prefer to use my own brain, also I prefer to do my own research and come to my own conclusions. When I went to school we were taught to use our brains, we did not have most of the modern electronics that are available today and a computer filled a huge room with special cooling & electrical. I have no problems with other people using AI, to me it is a personal choice what you prefer to use.
Newsflash: schools are still teaching students to use their own brains and most services you're using on the web are hosted in large data centers that require special cooling and electrical.

Another newsflash: students have cheated at all sorts of things LONG before computers existed.

So your anecdote of "I'm almost 70 and there was a Golden Age of Learning" is pretty funny.

There is nothing that precludes one from using their own brain when using LLM tools and when using them one should still comes to their own conclusions. I mean do you refuse to use a computer at all when doing your own research? Do you refuse to use spellcheck or grammar tools because god forbid it's not using your own brain (which might be really, really bad at spelling or grammar)?

I honestly couldn't care less what tools someone uses or not but your implication that using something like Gemini or ChatGPT means you're not doing your own research or using your own brain is preposterous.
