Sell it!?! a 120 5K? mini-led? That thing will last forever! unless you break it! You think you'll need 8K?
A. It won’t last forever.
B. There’s always something better on the horizon in the tech world.

...iMac haters: The display should be separate because you can keep it till it breaks
Also iMac haters: Keep the box because you’ll sell the display in a few years.
That’s a common reaction to iMac updates....
...
...
I have never heard ANYONE publicly make that first complaint.
I don’t think my post did that.I actually feel dumber for having read your post.
Yes, I've lived in an apartment. The issue you bring up is resolved with a couple minutes of spare time, a pocket knife or a decent pair of scissors. There’s nothing wrong with the box being designed to more easily break down. People who live in small apartments cant keep everything.
Definitely brings a good image to a sale listing if you can show it in the original box. Also the best way to ship it.If you might want to sell it after a few years you should absolutely keep it.
... No, the reaction you're referring to, as well as wildly misunderstanding, is Apple removing Target Display Mode, which used to allow iMac users to keep the display functionality long after the computer internals became outdated. That’s a common reaction to iMac updates.
Exactly. This seems to be a feature based on something they themselves caused. All boxes are collapsible, just some require some extra motivation. My boxcutter always solved the problem quite nicely no matter the size
No that isn’t the reaction I’m referring to. Literally every article about the M1 and newer iMacs has a couple of people commenting that the display should be separate since you dab keep it much longer.... Yes they doPeople really do see what they want to, don't they?

Yo dawg, I heard you like boxesWho chucks away Apple product boxes? Seems the ideal size to store all your other Apple product boxes to me 😂
On a related note, these little $10 ceramic blade ones are so good. I had gotten used to constantly changing out steel blades every few weeks, and now I swap one of these blades out like 2x a year. Magically makes every box “recyclable” 🤣My boxcutter always solved the problem quite nicely no matter the size
No, no, no, this is Apple skating to where the puck will be, not where the puck is. Apple has taken the ALL NEW Studio Display boxes to a whole new level, with a game-changing breakdown feature. Apple can't wait to see how customers are going to recycle with it. Apple thinks you're gonna love it.Exactly. This seems to be a feature based on something they themselves caused. All boxes are collapsible, just some require some extra motivation.
oh cool, would you mind hanging on to mine? most of my 400-square-foot apartment is occupied by unopened boxes of scented candles.Throwing away monitor boxes is top level idiocy. It's the only safe way to ship them for resale.
