I think at this point, it's dubious if a Mac is notably superior, vs just a personal preference for those of us who like OS X?
Maybe the former, but definitely the latter. The vast majority of Apple system buying public are buying iPads over Macs. AND over all the other brands as well. Apple will keep making the Mac for those that want them. And, the switch to Apple Silicon means they’ll be able to make them longer (as they’ll be able cut costs by sharing the system level designs and CPU’s). But, there will come a time when they simply can’t sell enough to make enough of a profit.

Says the guy who owns nothing but Apple products and probably hasn't touched a Windows 10 system since it released build 1511 (late 2015).

Windows is, in fact, "so much better now" and the fact that you are reluctant to say so and still think it's the pile of crap that Windows 8 was says a lot. 90% of the systems I support are Windows 10, the remaining are macOS. We're talking hundreds of systems. I would say that I have FAR FEWER (almost none) issues with Windows-based machines vs. Macs. I don't know what you're doing, or what you don't know (being an "Apple person" it sounds like you haven't a clue about Windows 10 or current PC hardware), but there aren't registry problems and rarely are there crashes, etc., if you have a good system. Dell is my brand of choice for clients, and they are very reliable. Almost never a hardware issue.

I have no idea why you had such a terrible experience with Windows but I suggest try the latest version on reliable, pre-built branded systems and if you can separate your biases, you'll find the Windows experience just as stable as macOS.
I just helped my son set up his new gaming PC. I am very well aware of and familiar with the current state of Windows 10. I also support it for work and have several family members I help with their Windows 10 PCs. I come into contact with enough Windows 10 machines in my daily personal AND work life to know that Windows 10 is still a UI nightmare built upon layers and layers of rat's nests of legacy code. Heck, if you want a trip down Windows UI Memory Lane, just go a few menus deep into your Windows 10 settings. All that old interface is still all there--it's just buried under lipstick and rouge. I just refuse to believe that leaving this kind of cruft in your software for decades is not a symptom of some seriously bad product management in general.

Yeah the M1 is already awesome! Seen people enjoying it a lot! I'm waiting for the 15" be released. Hoping it happens soon! :)

Wait for the redesigned MacBooks people.
Agreed. Apple said it was a two year rollout plan. If you need Pro performance then M1 wasn't for you. Maybe we'll see the big kids Apple silicon at WWDC in a few months. That's literally the targeted market for the next Apple chip.

In the voice of Nusret "....Woooooooooowww!"

I guess iOS is not the future Mr. Cook, Whats a PC indeed...

WWDC starts on June 7.

At first glance I thought think was great achievement. Then I realized that Lenovo, HP, Acer and "other" all achieved comparable growth. So, nothing to see here.
Apple's market share grew by 7.7%, where as Lenovo grew by 1%, HP grew by 6% and Dell dropped by 24%. If this market share growth is sustainable after the pandemic, then this is a huge win for Apple.

It’s already a huge win for Apple. The iPad outsold them all. They don’t get rolled up into these comparisons for whatever reason, but the numbers are out there.
