Well obviously they want you to drive out to china where it is made to get it.

Don't be a Richard. Your response makes no sense, is unnecessary, and completely unhelpful. The iPhone Upgrade program must be set up in store. I've never pre-ordered an iPhone before, but I think I remember hearing how there are pre-order lines and non-pre-order lines on launch day, so that raises my question of is there an option to have it shipped instead when we pre-order it tonight? Anyone else who actually has relevant information care to chime in please?

So I'm wondering if this reservation to take advantage of the 12 monthly payments guarantees you an iPhone of your choice or not. If it's at all finicky, I'll just pre-order through AT&T again like last year.

anyone know the answer to this? I will be eligible for an upgrade on the 16th - can I preorder tomorrow since I won't even get it before my eligible date, or do I need to wait until the 16th to preorder?

I'm glad AT&T Business lets me order ahead of the pre-order. I already ordered my wife phone, so I don't have to sit up all night hitting refresh...refresh...refresh...refresh...I'M IN.. What? It ships between 12/15/15 - 2/15/16? #*@&

Is your card charged straight away or charged in store during pickup / just prior to being posted?

I'd like to preorder now and finance on my interest free card in store..

For postage they always charge when it ships rather than when you purchase, but for in-store I'm not too sure.

Pre-order has always been shipped to your house. Once in a while Apple offers an option to reserve for in-store pickup. But that's not preordering as you are not charged. It appears that the only in-store pickup will be the iPhone upgrade program. But that may change once midnight rolls around.

If. And that's if Apple has in-store pickup for non-iPhone upgrade program you pay at the store. I honestly don't think there will be in-store pickup for preorder And iPhone upgrade program. Way too complicated.

will be interesting to see what the first 'whatever'-gate is about for this phone... guessing something about the 3d touch not working for some people who routinely sit on their phone.
I saw that guy that did the first bend tests try to bend the new case and he had to work hard to get it done. So, at least we dont have to work about bend being one of the words. I hope there are no gates to be honest. Blah.

assuming you can use applePay to buy this ;)
If you buy with your phone and have ApplePay setup, you sure can. That would be a disappointment to buy an Apple product and not be able to use ApplePay.

AT&T upgrade system is just down. I am going to purchase through AT&T to do Next with down payment(30%) since Apple doesn't offer that option. Tried to make sure it was working and it comes back with-
"There was a problem with your request. We're sorry but we are unable to process your request online.
(P1300) " It is still going to come down to the individual carriers as reliability goes, hopefully Apple has a prime connection to the backends of these systems this time.

So I'm on AT&T Next 12mo right now and still have 1 month to go. I have to pay the $37.50 to upgrade early or pay $449 to buy-out the phone and keep it.

With Apple's program, do I give AT&T my phone and buy the phone from Apple at the month-to-month rate? What happens after the year with Apple? They say I can upgrade every year, but looks like I'm stuck making 24 payments anyway. I don't see any trade-in options like with AT&T.

Does anyone know how this is going to work? I want to upgrade tonight but its looking confusing.

With your ATT next you pay the $37.50 and turn in your phone and walk out with a new one.

Apples system is pretty much the same way. After the 12 months you can upgrade again. You simply give them back your phone and roll into a new one. At least thats how I am interpreting it to be.

You're basically leasing it with the option to buy. If you want it to sell on your own you have to pay the balloon payment. Or you can keep it and pay it off at 20 or 24 or whatever your contract started with. The new plans just give you the option to turn it in early.

Isn't it weird that Apple is the only online retail vendor that seems to have the need to shut down the entire store in order to add a few new products.

Seriously, imagine Amazon.com shutting down for a couple hours every time they need to add a new flyswatter or wireless gadget. Seriously, Apple. You should ask Siri about blue-green deployment.

Well it's probably going to be a messy slow process as usual, you figure after all these years they would have learned something and allocated more resources to this ordering process. I plan on making a purchase, it's a no brainer with AT&T Next, new phone + pay monthly for it with no interest. Yeah that sounds about right. I hope at the least the process won't be as bad as when ordering the Apple Watch fingers crossed!

Yeah but with Apple you are going to pay the 12.99% interest rate my friend, AT&T Next is the way to go. Get new phone, send back old phone, pay monthly and no interest for new phone yeah baby!
