Isn't it weird that Apple is the only online retail vendor that seems to have the need to shut down the entire store in order to add a few new products.

Does the online store really go down every time they add or remove any tiny item? By this point it's probably just a tradition that happens to build anticipation before major traffic surges. (I know I start to salivate whenever that message pops up...)

I don't think you read the whole thing. If you pick installment plan you then have the ability to apply for the installment payment plan credit and you will be charged the 12.99% interest rate on your payments. Why would Apple or anybody lend you money for free genius! AT&T does it because they are making money other ways so they can do the 0% interest on the AT&T Next plan.

What are you talking about? Where did you read anything about 12.99% interest?

Seriously, imagine Amazon.com shutting down for a couple hours every time they need to add a new flyswatter or wireless gadget. Seriously, Apple. You should ask Siri about blue-green deployment.

I'm sure the web traffic caused by flyswatters and random electronic doodads is comparable to the launch of an iPhone...

Oh, I don't know, oh yeah, reselling the used phones for a profit. Please quote a source for this 12.99% interest. I'll wait.

The math has been posted many times and its the same price as buying full price upfront with Apple Care +.

So are we taking bets as to whether or not this breaks the internet like it did last year?

I'm not pre-ordering this year so I will have to live vicariously through you all and merely witness the ups and downs of certain models shipping before others, the consulting of auguries on which confirmation number means what, the endless division of the forums ("**iPhone 6S Plus Rose Gold 128GB AT&T Next (NOT PREMIER!!)ONLY**), the heart-warming gloat of those that get theirs on launch day.

Sigh...

Good luck to the guinea pigs testing out first gen iPhone 6s.
Really - the S models are the ones where all the kinks are worked out (in the past antenna, Iphone 5 scuffing, bending issues, etc)

This is a fabulous upgrade - 6+s 128GB - here it comes...

My AT&T NEXt upgrade isn't until 9/17...anyway to pay off the last payment so I can get a new one?

I think you can pay off the remaining balance on AT&T's website but I don't know if it'll reflect in their system soon enough for you to start a new Next plan tonight.

iPhone 6s or 6s Plus? I will making the decision in the morning as to what one. Can anyone say if the 6s will have the OIS like the 6S Plus? What other features will the 6S Plus have that the 6S will not? Thanks in advance.

Apple has taken its online storefront down in order to prepare for the launch of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus pre-orders, which will begin at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time or 3:01 a.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, September 12. Pre-orders will be available on Apple's site, via the Apple Store app, and on several carrier sites.

Ahead of when pre-orders kick off, people planning to make a purchase should check their upgrade eligibility and pricing options on Apple's website, using the new "Get ready for pre-order" tool.

Apple will accept pre-orders in first wave launch countries including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, the UK, and the United States.

The iPhone 6s is available in 16, 64, and 128 GB capacities in the United States for $199, $299, and $399, respectively, with a two-year contract. Contract-free pricing begins at $649. Apple's higher-priced iPhone 6s Plus is available in 16, 64, and 128 GB capacities for $299, $399, and $499, respectively, with a two-year contract. Contract-free pricing on the larger-screened device starts at $749.

Apple is also offering its own iPhone Upgrade Program in the United States, letting users pay a monthly fee for their iPhone with a trade-in option available after 12 months of payments. Pricing, which includes AppleCare+, starts at $32.41 per month for the entry-level 16GB iPhone 6s and goes up from there. Participating in this program requires an in-store purchase, but Apple is accepting online reservations at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time on September 12 for in-store appointments.

This time I am going space gray, more subdued - the gold one I have always made me conscious of folks glancing at it in my subway commute.

That 12.99% interest rate you pulled out of your ###. It will be 0% like all the other carrier installment plans. You must work for AT&T.

First off, it says 12.99% in the terms on the page about getting ready to pre-order. You gotta read the terms when you apply for a loan.

Second of all, this appears to be the monthly payment plan unlimited data plan owners have been waiting for and you only have to make 12 payments to upgrade each year. So there are pros and cons to this new upgrade program.

You can, I just did mine this morning. Apple's website showed me as upgrade eligibility literally minutes after I made the payment. I ended up paying the whole thing off as I'm sure I can sell it for more than I had to pay off ($388.00 for a 64gb Plus). The difference should almost pay for the sales tax I have to pay for my next Next plan.
