anyone know the answer to this? I will be eligible for an upgrade on the 16th - can I preorder tomorrow since I won't even get it before my eligible date, or do I need to wait until the 16th to preorder?
You have to wait. I had to last year. Now I have to wait until September 25, 2016 now According to AT&T. Time to switch to carriers.

Just as I was finishing my order for an iPad Air 2.. Do they have to take the whole store down for one product?
Yeah I know it sucks. It would be nice if you could actually add the product to the cart then when they open the gates you could just process the order.

Yeah but with Apple you are going to pay the 12.99% interest rate my friend, AT&T Next is the way to go. Get new phone, send back old phone, pay monthly and no interest for new phone yeah baby!

-Mike

That 12.99% interest rate you pulled out of your ###. It will be 0% like all the other carrier installment plans. You must work for AT&T.

Yep headed to T-Mobile in the morning to Pre-Order with jump. No need to sit around waiting for the iPhone 7 because with Jump I'm sure I will have both and beyond!

Spoke to a business rep at an Australian Apple Store, in store pickup / reservations will be launched a couple of days prior to launch day. In store pickup won't be available today.

Oh yes baby

I forget...are they now allowing us to just pay full price for these as preorder vs say, Next plan?

I'd rather pay up front instead of dealing with an upgrade ordeal.

Good luck to the guinea pigs testing out first gen iPhone 6s.

Whats it feel like living in the stone age? You have running water in your house, electric? Modern day cellphone plans allows some to upgrade every year. Enjoy your android device, I know your not a iPhone user or you wouldn't be running your mouth.

Anyone know how online pre-orders work as far as getting the phone on launch day? Is there usually an option to ship it or do you have to pick it up in store?

I would think this kind of depends on your carrier. I know with T-Mobile Jump (not jump on demand) I have to go to the store and pre-order.

Are you on Verizon? They have been moving up upgrade dates.
Yes, I am, and weird - in one place it shows my upgrade date for later in the month, in another place it says I can upgrade now. Guess I'll try tomorrow and see what happens. Wonder if I have to do it through Verizon or if I can do it through Apple and they'll recognize the upgrade.

Probably ignorant question here
I upgrade every two years and my carrier is AT&T.
I always used the two year program and upgrade at the end.
I like to keep my old iPhone at the end and sell it or pass along to a family member.

Any reason to change this behavior?

You should've called your phone company and have them make you eligible.

I don't think you read the whole thing. If you pick installment plan you then have the ability to apply for the installment payment plan credit and you will be charged the 12.99% interest rate on your payments. Why would Apple or anybody lend you money for free genius! AT&T does it because they are making money other ways so they can do the 0% interest on the AT&T Next plan.

Been trying to figure this out, so maybe someone can help...
Apple Upgrade Program- goes live at 12:01 tonight and then it's in store pick up only, but if we are one of the lucky firsts, does this mean we are guaranteed to get a phone on the 25th? Also- anyone by chance know if it will just let us select the store where we want to pick it up? Thanks in advance! Excited to see the hype again this year!!!

AFAIK they still have the two year contract.
Two year is fine. I just ending my 5S plan and while I was envy at first when the 6 came up, I can wait for the next cycle.

Isn't it weird that Apple is the only online retail vendor that seems to have the need to shut down the entire store in order to add a few new products.

Seriously, imagine Amazon.com shutting down for a couple hours every time they need to add a new flyswatter or wireless gadget. Seriously, Apple. You should ask Siri about blue-green deployment.
Even making it impossible for those who want to preorder to edit their account info, or view the Apple Upgrade Program info page. It's actually kind of hilarious :D

This. I am trying to figure it out. I had to go to google and view the cached page to read it. Thank you Google (never thought I'd say that last part).

Me too. I'm ending my two-year with Verizon and have been fine waiting, though now I'm ready!
