Apple has taken its online storefront down in order to prepare for the launch of the iPhone 8, the iPhone 8 Plus, the Apple TV 4K, and the new Apple Watch Series 3 models. Pre-orders are expected to begin at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time or 3:01 a.m. Eastern Time on Friday, September 15 in the United States.

In other countries, pre-order times will vary. Pre-orders kick off at 5:01 p.m. in Sydney, for example, 3:01 p.m. in China, and 8:01 a.m. in the UK. Apple has confirmed the time for the iPhone 8 and Apple TV 4K launch, and while the company has not listed a pre-order time for the Apple Watch, orders for the wearable device is likely to begin at the same time.

Apple will accept pre-orders for the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus in first wave launch countries including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, UAE, the UK, the US and US Virgin Islands.

Customers planning to purchase an iPhone 8, Series 3 Apple Watch, or a 4K Apple TV should order early. There were rumors suggesting that supplies of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus would be constrained alongside the iPhone X, and Plus models in particular are often in short supply. There's no word on whether supplies of the new Apple Watch might be limited.

The 4.7-inch iPhone 8 is available in 64 and 256GB capacities for $699 and $849 in the United States. The 5.5-inch iPhone 8 is also available in 64 and 256GB capacities for $799 and $949. For customers using Apple's iPhone Upgrade Program, pricing starts at $34.50 for iPhone 8 and $39.50 for iPhone 8 Plus.

Pricing on the Apple TV 4K starts at $179 for the 32GB model, and for the Apple Watch Series 3, LTE models start at $399 and non-LTE models start at $329.

What time Central Time?
[doublepost=1505438922][/doublepost]What time central time?

In 2017, it feels like a drama act. Do we really need to take the store down? It's not like couple of web page writers are starting to write all the new pages.

They don't, but its a great business model. It makes it feel like you're waiting on a digital line, I suppose. Then everyone wants to be that first person.
[doublepost=1505439034][/doublepost]I have a strong feeling the iPhone 8 is going to sell out for whatever reason.

too funny! When Apple introduced the iPhone with 16GB, people thought that was too small, so Apple started with 32GB on the iPhone 7. Now 64GB is too small? what are you storing on your phone?

The size of apps is getting much larger. I have several apps (that are not games) on my phone that are well over 300 MB in size. Most apps were nowhere near that large when the iPhone capacities to choose from were 16, 32, and 64 GB.

I assume this will be carrier only like years past? Sure wish they'd stop that crap and let me preorder a sim free phone paid in full up front. Oh well, I imagine I can get a VZW phone on Saturday following launch day like I did 2 years ago. Or I may wait for sim free on the off chance I'd switch to Sprint.

Nope - sim free available at launch for 8 and 8+.

This are sad times.

If in 10 days the iPhone 8 Plus has no wait period I might buy it.
Expect the 8 plus to be discounted soon after. Have to believe this thing is going to tank hard. Plus customers are waiting for the X, unless the plus is nicely discounted.

Watch tomorrow Apple says sold out. The iPhone 8 is a great success.

That's BS Apple, after how many years, they should have data on having a very precise stock for the first week or month of launch, and zero reason to have back orders, but they purposely do this to make it sound better.

I believe the bottleneck is on the software. They need to produce enough in quantity with a version of iOS 11 that is ready to ship. They aren't far enough ahead of the game on iOS development to get them all ready weeks ahead of time with a stable build of iOS so they have to do that work late in the process and that limits the amount of iPhones they can ship on day one.

Apple a history of whacky product namings? NEVER! (eh'hem, iPad)

I expect Apple X to be a solo name, probably skip 9 and go to Xs, Xs+ or some more terrible.

I am waiting for the iPhone XXX or the iPhone Dos Equis.

I'm out this time. The first time for a long time that I don't want anything from Apple.

This is the first time since the 4S that I am not buying anything. I choose to get a 128GB iPhone 7 Plus after the keynote and upgrade next year if I like what's offered. Otherwise I am going to keep the 7 Plus for another year. I want a new Apple Watch but I would rather pickup a Series 2 on clearance. I don't care about LTE on the watch. I really don't want to give AT&T anymore money.

I doubt the bottleneck is software as they can manufacture in advance and load the software at the last minute and then package and ship. The issue is usually a combination of component availability and not wanting to store parts en mass. When you engage in JIT manufacturing there are a bunch of things that have to align to avoid bottlenecks.

We're busy getting ready for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus
Come back soon to pre-order an iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus with all these great EE benefits:

  • Get a new iPhone every year with EE Annual Upgrade
  • Six free months of Apple Music, with the data on us
  • Plus, add the Apple Watch Series 3 (4G) - the first smart watch to connect directly to 4G. So you can leave your phone behind. Only with an iPhone on EE
All on the UK network with 4G in more places.

is it really necessary to take the website down 5 hours before pre-orders? I like Apple products but the company is a little bit dramatic and obnoxious sometimes. I'm no tech expert but I'm pretty sure a company with the resources of Apple doesn't need to take their website down at all for this.
Agree, I would like to be able to compare models last minute still.... before ordering.

Ima skip this year. I love my 7+. Actually i want to try google pixel xl2 this yeat

What will happen when Apple releases the iPhone 9 next year, and then the iPhone 10? But the iPhone X is already out, what would be it's numbering scheme... iPhone X1?
Just a weird numbering scheme that will complicate things lol.
My thoughts are that they will stop with numbers and go with names. I can't imagine an iPhone 23 down the road, but I can imagine an iPhone Aspen or something like that. They could do all the oceans, lakes, mountains, great cities, whatever. Sort of like they do with the OS these days. Been through all of the big cat names so I don't think they will use them for iPhones.

I don't think this weekend will go well for Apple ... too many will be on the face between the 8 Plus and the X ... if Apple knew the X would be so-delayed, they should have reduced the base price of the 8 to $600 and the 8 Plus to $700.

I personally think they screwed up (again).

I'll pass. I found a MBP 17" late 2011 that's going to get my money.
[doublepost=1505441190][/doublepost]My friend said he is going to pass and stick with his 6 another year.
