I've never really had any desire for a bezel-free phone, so I'm pretty happy going from a 6 to an 8. I think sales will be 'respectable' rather than 'spectacular', which is okay. It's nice to have both the X and 8 as options. Both are great.
I've heard a lot of 'X is the future, so you'd be dumb to get an 8!' That may be true, but nobody says you have to embrace the future right away. There's nothing wrong with sidling into the future with an old, comfortable friend by your side. Especially if your friend is cheap! Er. No, wait... I think my analogy might be falling through a bit.
Anyway, if we're keeping score, I'm one of the idiots getting the 8 and skipping the X!
Does anyone know if you can buy the LTE watch without immediately adding a data plan to it?
No you can't, at least on ATT. I spoke with a rep and she told me they are offering to waive the 25$ activation fee and give 3 months of $10 credit but you have to sign a 20 month agreement.
I'm loving all these people saying they're gunna wait for the X, makes it easier for me to order my 8.
Interesting to know... I spoke with a rep earlier but forgot to ask if this was a month to month or contact deal. It's not like I'm getting rid of my phone or watch anytime soon but it's still not ideal.
You are aware in IOS 11 that there is a new feature that will retire apps you have not used in a large time to free up space right? If you have that many apps on your phone that take up 64 gb my guess is there are a lot that don't get used that often. 64 gb is plenty for apps. You need more if you have a large song collection you wish to actually carry , or a movie collection. In any event, its silly to say 64 gb is too small for the average consumer.
too funny! When Apple introduced the iPhone with 16GB, people thought that was too small, so Apple started with 32GB on the iPhone 7. Now 64GB is too small? what are you storing on your phone?
Watch tomorrow Apple says sold out. The iPhone 8 is a great success.
That's BS Apple, after how many years, they should have data on having a very precise stock for the first week or month of launch, and zero reason to have back orders, but they purposely do this to make it sound better.
And hopefully no delay.
4K video ...... chews through your storage. 16GB phone would be great with a 2011 camera

Ahh the good old night club trick with long lines outside and mostly empty inside![]()

Customers planning to purchase an iPhone 8, Series 3 Apple Watch, or a 4K Apple TV should order early. There were rumors suggesting that supplies of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus would be constrained alongside the iPhone X, and Plus models in particular are often in short supply. There's no word on whether supplies of the new Apple Watch might be limited.
The 4.7-inch iPhone 8 is available in 64 and 256GB capacities for $699 and $849 in the United States. The 5.5-inch iPhone 8 is also available in 64 and 256GB capacities for $799 and $949. For customers using Apple's iPhone Upgrade Program, pricing starts at $34.50 for iPhone 8 and $39.50 for iPhone 8 Plus.
Pricing on the Apple TV 4K starts at $179 for the 32GB model, and for the Apple Watch Series 3, LTE models start at $399 and non-LTE models start at $329.

128 would have cost the same as the current 256. be happy apple doubled it for free. it's not like apple would have shaved $50 off the price if they stuck with 128
I assume this will be carrier only like years past? Sure wish they'd stop that crap and let me preorder a sim free phone paid in full up front. Oh well, I imagine I can get a VZW phone on Saturday following launch day like I did 2 years ago. Or I may wait for sim free on the off chance I'd switch to Sprint.
LmaoTim Cook can't wait for you to buy in dozen....like Krispy Creme Donuts.
To be fair, 4K videos eat up memory. I personally would turn that off while recording videos. That said, if someone is going to record 4K videos, even 128 GB is going to be small, and they might as well take 256 GB option.too funny! When Apple introduced the iPhone with 16GB, people thought that was too small, so Apple started with 32GB on the iPhone 7. Now 64GB is too small? what are you storing on your phone?
I'll be picking up a new 4k ATV ....... on Black Friday.
I hate these 3:00am events.
How many people are actually pre-ordering an 8/8+ already having a 7/7+?
They have the iPhone SE, now the iPhone X, all they need is the iPhone Y.
