What if this whole extremely low stock story that is going around is all a ploy to get even more people to go and pre-order like crazy? I mean, it wouldn't really surprise me if that were the case.

For the iPhone 7 didn't the sales for the first 24 hours top 5 million? So IMO if their are going to be 2-3 million iPhone available on pre-order day (according to most rumours), even if your an hour late to make your purchase, I bet you would still get a day one of at least week 1 delivery purchase. Add the fact that a lot of people bought the iPhone 8 model instead and the chances increase.

That's what I am wondering, too!

Open your phone app and something like "complete order or submit order" comes up. All you need to do is click on it. With my 8 preorder, i had to scroll up to change to store pick-up and then choose time. So extra clicks for store pick-up.

Anyone know how the App Store app refreshes automatically? Do I have to keep reloading it? Should I force close it to be safe? I remember in past launches the store doesn’t open right at 12:01.

Is the concept of time zones a new phenomenon? Why does Macrumors think people are so stupid that they don’t understand that 12:01 Pacific time translates into different times in other parts of the world?

They don't. Just creating click bait.

I just wish that's there's gonna be a pick up option in the apple store near me when I'm doing the pre-order

I like your optimism, but I kind of sense that scalpers are going to be pretty strong this time around.

That’s my only issue, since all the rumors are indicating storages... that’s music to scalpers ears, knowing fanboys of Apple will pay what’s needed to get the iPhone on launch day.

Another issue is how AT&T will handle checking for upgrades, hopefully it only last a few seconds. If I’m able to make the purchase within 2 mins when it goes live.. I feel optimistic of getting on launch day.

Cause IMO, it’s a 5 min window... if you don’t get your order in within 5 mins... your missing out on getting it on launch day.

I think they are thinking more about food than phones

Yup, what a crazy world we have become where a £1150 iPhone is higher priority than basic services like, electricity , water etc . Imagine a world where you cannot send emoji for a short period of time ..... the horror ....the horror ....

ATT's app site always goes live ahead of midnight. Always get my order placed by 11:48-11:50.. but I'm going with AppleStore app this year. Apple always keeps more supply for itself than it gives to carrier sites. Better chance to get on launch day ordering thru Apple.
