how the hell can Apple handle all that website/app traffic from millions of people around 55 countries, all at the SAME time/minute?

I have to admit I don’t pay much attention (I buy the minimum tier) but I thought it was usually 4x between the min/max... 16/64, 32/128, 64/256, like that.
I guess sometimes they’ve sold 3 tiers but you already hear complaints about pre-return-of-Jobs SKU bloat, I think 2 tiers is all they’re going to do.
I don’t think you’re going to see 128/256; 128 is overkill for so many users. It’ll go to 128/512 at some point though. FWIW, NAND is currently relatively constrained/expensive right now, from what I understand.
Buuuuut... the Verizon model is compatible with all of them. They should only sell model A1865, and not model A1901. Model A1901 is just A1865 but without as many bands for same price.Yeah, enrolling release nights. Good luck

GSM vs CDMA. If you bought iphones before you didn't have to wonder why they don't combine versions.
I'm ready...

The internet is going to break tonight
Guys need some help...What does it mean to buy a T- Mobile Unlocked version of iphone X..How is it different from a sim-free version..I have a T- Mobile sim currently.....can I use the existing plan/sim..What details will be asked during the checkout...
You condone higher price?I would expect the prices to go even higher on the 11 especially if they make a Plus version. The X will probably stay about the same and the 8 will be the more economical choice.
A $1500 iPhone 11 Plus might sound high, but as long as millions and millions of people will pay it I don’t blame Apple for charging as much as possible. Prices like that really help the profit margin.
Compatible != OptimalBuuuuut... the Verizon model is compatible with all of them.
If by optimal you mean saving Apple a few bucks by not including the extra hardware then great for Apple! Bad for consumer tho as it doesn’t give them the same benefit.Compatible != Optimal
It is reasonable to expect to sell it for $300 more... I am interested in scalping it to make some Christmas money. What do you think the markup will be on eBay around December, and should I try to buy one tonight?
We may see if the Apple Store App can DDOS itself from raw numbers tonight. Got the old slow Mac browser on standbye just in case....
You're good. Just buy and drop in your sim prior to power on and it should use your plan just fine (you never had to supply account numbers or anything in prior years so you shouldn't now). The TMobile was considered the "early" unlocked model (since you used to have to wait for true unlocked models - although the X is taking us back to that world). The only downside (at least previously) was that the carrier models didn't come with SIM tools (not a big deal).

Great news! This means the iPhone X pre-ordering is definitely going ahead on Friday.
I'll be one of them and just cancel it if not Nov 3rd delivery date
I’m going to keep randomly checking, maybe it will launch earlier than 12:01
Don’t be so glum. IF the 3m number is correct, if half of them are alotted to carriers and physical stores, there would still be 250.000 per country (on average) for the online pre-orders. Less for smaller countries of course, but that’s still some orders to churn though for a couple of minutes ...Analysts saying approx 3 million units available for sale. Launch is taking place in 55 countries and stores are going to have limited stock on launch day.....................So what are the chances of getting one on the 27th. delivery times will probably start at 4 weeks
Anyway Good
Luck to All
