The kind of updates only dumastudetto would feign excitement for

another tick on the mantle for innovation-less design. I recon apple planned a new iMac launch last year and when the Microsoft Surface Studio was released decided, o damn, we lost at our own game.

One can only hope that's the case and Apple went back to the drawing board. But I'll believe it when I see it.

Apple made something thicker??????

Hell just froze over.

Hahahaha, yeah!

Seriously though, if battery capacity (and thus battery life) is improved, this is a decent, if not socks-off-blowing update.

I still wish for the death of Lightning but it's not a deal-breaker.

One (very small) step closer to a (part-time) laptop replacement for me, but they're still quite far away from that, esp. software-wise.

Maybe 2019 will be it!

Amused at the disappointment... make mock disappointment here. Did people really think exciting product was going to be released by a middle of the night Apple Store dump followed by 8:30am eastern press release? The products Apple released are precisely the kind that deserved this kind of release.

Remains to be seen if new flagship iPads or Macs are set for an Apple Event and Apple is just clearing the underbrush out of the way to concentrate on the upper level products.

Everything released today is respectable and done with minimal hype. What's the problem? Agree if April comes and goes with no truly new iPad or Mac then there is a problem.

All rumours point to new Macs beginning of 2017. Only 10 more days until the 1st quarter of 2017 is over. Anyone else tired of being disappointed with Apple's neglect and poor management?

I'm glad I didn't wait to build my hackintosh. It was a steep learning curve, but for the money I saved, it's a much better machine than anything else Apple has out right now. If it can't be done right, do it yourself.

This is the case I used which is what I imagine Apple's Mac Pro should have been:

Good job btw. How's it working out for you? I almost went that direction, but as it would be my work computer I didn't want to deal with a random update breaking everything. I have windows 10 in my near future (*ick*). I loved Apple's products, but I just cant justify buying another gimped machine.

I was expecting (hoping) for the Macs to have soft updates (memory, usb-c, etc.). Alas. As a designer/digital artist, I am really contemplating the Surface Studio unless they knock my socks off at the WWDC.

Bitfenix Prodigy M. It's a nice chassi. The black one you have looks good, but I think the white case is even more Mac Pro/Apple. :)

The key is not to upgrade and you shouldn't if it's a production machine regardless. Windows 10 runs well as a dual boot, and reaches the login screen in 3-4 seconds via SSD. Sierra takes 12 seconds. Upgrades simply slows down your machine/ devices over time. I remember when I first got my iPad mini 2 and iPhone 5s. Apple would nag me until I updated and now they're frustratingly slow. Fortunately on MacOS, you can turn update notifications off.

I wouldn't recommend a hackintosh to anyone. I'm a computer tech and it was quite a learning curve sorting through endless tech documents and forum posts. I wanted to give up a few times but there was nothing from Apple I could convince myself to buy. The prices for a Mac Pro (outdated garbage bin?)_ and the new MacBook Pro (non-replaceable SSD/ RAM) were ridiculous for what you actually got. I'd rather hold on to my 2012 cMBP with antiglare, quad i7, dual hard drives and 16GB RAM and just build the hackintosh for gaming and super intensive audio/video production.

I thought about the white one, but I plan on using the 5 1/4 drive bay and most devices are black so I figured it would look better. I think Apple should have made all their devices black. If you consider the popularity of the jet black iPhone I think this makes sense. White is kinda going backwards although I used to love the look of the older white iMacs (at least the colour). :)

I tink they should have both, like for the iDevices. :) In some circumstances I think black IT stuff can feel a little bland (maybe because it's so common) – but the black items Apple has produced have looked good I think.

The silver/white IT stuff many times give a more futuristic/sci-fi impression to me, which I like.

Anyway...
