Guys is the 8 plus likely to have the same dimensions as the 7 plus. Asking so I can order a case before hand.

I believe according to rumors, yes. But hard to say - I would hold off until after the event. It is very possible that the new phones could be slimmer/thicker, the buttons could move slightly, and the camera may move.

I read something that said it might be a smidge thicker because of the wireless charging components, so I would hold off as well.

Dimensions should be the same BUT mic holes, flash, camera, power & volume buttons may not be in the same exact place. Close but not cigar. That would render any current cases useless or needing modification.

For example all you have to do is look at the original iPad 12" and this years model. Dimensions are the same but the flash and mic were relocated and the speakers slightly shifted. Cases for the original iPad fit fine on the 2017 model but you have to make holes for the mic and flash.

So I would hold off ordering a case until after the keynote when you can compare the 7 with the 8.

I read the comments hoping to see the "it's happening" guy. I'm leaving disappointed. Hopefully the keynote won't do the same to me.

I came here to take the low hanging fruit and post it. I swore I saw it within the top 5 comments... must have been deleted.

Do you really have to name it the iPhone X event and ahead of the iPhone X event Apple store goes down.

It’s probably the name for the iPhone but not official yet. But can’t you just call it iPhone event?

True, but let's be honest -- most people are tuning in for the X. That is the headliner.

I mean when Santa is in concert kids refer to it as the Santa concert, not whoever the warmup act is, Frostbitten Snowmen or Grinch & The Lutes.... Kids come for Santa. Everything else is a sideshow no matter how enjoyable it may be.

I would be shocked if it didn't go down and this stupid marketing scam actually stopped, oh and websites didn't report on this as though it's "news."

iPhone X here i come!!

How are you going to afford any of this stuff without a job?

I’m very excited.

Do you guys think we’re looking at a three hour keynote today? Or two?

It takes them 6 hours to update the store. Sure. ;) #marketingmove

They're coordinating a major change to, probably, a quarter of their product line across a dozen localised websites in multiple timezones and countries. That's a bit more tricky than Amazon changing the price of an economy pack of incontinence pants in Germany (on a platform that is designed to support a vast catalog of products from multiple vendors).

Apple are actually pretty unusual in that their new products are typically available to order in multiple countries immediately after launch. That will come with its share of logistical problems.

I think it’s a long shot, but do you think the phones go on sale right after the keynote, like the new iPad Pros did?
